1.5-rep push-up

The 1.5-rep push-up is a more difficult variation of the push-up, commonly used to train for military and tactical physical fitness tests. It builds upper-body muscle and strength, emphasizing the chest, core, upper back, triceps, and shoulders.


  1. Strengthens the chest, triceps, shoulders, and core
  2. Increases upper-body strength and core stability
  3. Engages lower-body muscles to maintain plank position
  4. More difficult progression of the standard bodyweight push-up
  5. Can add additional pauses or manipulate tempo to increase difficulty
