Kelly Starrett, DPT

Background

Dr. Kelly Starrett is a coach, physical therapist, and the creator of the website MobilityWOD.com. Through hundreds of online articles, videos, and seminars, he has helped to bring much-needed attention to issues of injury prevention, movement, and body maintenance in athletics and fitness.

Dr. Starrett's initial contribution will be a column to be published on Bodybuilding.com that will address the issues of injury prevention, movement, and body maintenance, as they relate to the strength athlete.

In 2005, Dr. Starrett opened San Francisco CrossFit, with his wife and fellow athlete, Julie Starrett. He previously practiced physical therapy at the Stone Clinic. He received his Doctor of Physical Therapy from Samuel Merritt College in Oakland, California, in 2007. His coaching experience includes stints coaching 2008 Olympic Rowing Gold Medalist Erin Cafaro, and coaching for the U.S. Canoe and Kayak teams, and the U.S. Men's Whitewater Rafting Team.

For more background on Kelly, read the following excerpt from his book Becoming A Supple Leopard: The Ultimate Guide to Resolving Pain, Preventing Injury, and Optimizing Athletic Performance, which was released April 23, 2013, by Victory Belt Publishing.
