South is a former personal trainer who has worked as the Chief Research Officer (CRO) of a major nutrition company, and as a marketing and advertising advisor to many of the major companies in the dietary supplement industry.

South graduated with an Associates Law Degree, and is a certified Specialist in Performance Nutrition (SPN) by the International Sports Sciences Association (ISSA).
