Qualifier for the Duathlon Short Course World Championship to be held in Belgium on May 31st, 2004. I placed 5th in my age group, earning a spot on Team USA for the Championship race. This course was an 8K run, 55K bike, 8K run.

2003 Dannon Desert Duel
Cathedral City, CA (11-9-03)
This duathlon was a qualifier for the Duathlon Long Distance World Championship to be held in Fredericia Denmark in August 2004. Age group competitors were required to place in the top four of their age groups to make the USA Team for Worlds. This course was a 10K run, 60K bike, 10K run.
Placing: 2nd woman overall and 1st in age group
Qualified and reserved my spot on the team for travel to Denmark this season.

2003 ITU Duathlon Worlds Championship
Affoltern-am-Albis, Switzerland (8-31-03)
This is a invitation only entry race. Upon qualifying I joined Team USA for the worlds competition, consisting of a 10K run, 42K bike, 5K run. Coming out of the 10K I was 1st/33 in my age group and 10th overall in women. About 3/4 way through the bike segment I was pulled off course due to hypothermia. The weather was a torrential rain and 9 degrees Celsius causing 30 women to drop out. Weather permitting, I would have placed in the top of my age group.
