Background

I first got into weight lifting after seeing my first Arnold Schwarzenegger movie, Conan, and talking to my father about bodybuilding. I have been lifting weights on and off for the past 8 years, but in the last 4 years I've seriously devoted my life to it. As a result I wake up every single morning a little bigger and a little stronger than I've ever been before. A number of past injuries got me into Yoga and Pilates for rehabilitation and now I'm hooked on both.

I love helping people get into bodybuilding and fitness in general - I've turned more than a couple of my friends into gym rats. I read constantly on bodybuilding principles, nutrition and sports supplements and am in the process of becoming certified as a personal trainer. I have also started to write articles on health and fitness issues.

I've played a lot of sports at a competitive level including Hockey, Football and Tennis. I have also trained in Jiu-Jitsu and Judo, which brings me to my second passion, Mixed Martial Arts. I've been a huge MMA fan for the last 10 years, and in 2005 I fought in an amateur MMA event and won my fight via submission. One of my goals as a writer is to cover a UFC event live in Las Vegas.
