While working on my thesis paper on the biochemistry of creatine in the body, I realized exactly what I wanted to do for a living - work in the health and supplement industry! And that I did, soon after completing my degree I landed a job as a product developer within the R&D department of a leading supplement company. The environment was intoxicating with bodybuilding and competing.

After 6 years of weight training under my belt, I thought it was time to take my physique to the next level and what better place to start than in the my supportive surroundings. With the help of my colleagues, I developed a training and nutrition program and in a matter of 12-weeks, I was ready to compete at my first show; which happened to be the first ever figure competition in Canada. After placing 4th, I became determined to compete again, only this time take home the prize.

In 2006, all my hard work paid off, placing first at the Canadian National's and qualifying to compete at the IFBB Women's World Championships in Santa Susanna, Spain as part of Team Canada! Although I didn't place at the event, the experience in Spain was a memorable one, competing with 150 of the World's top female bodybuilding and figure competitors.

This past season, it was time to enroll the help of a high profile trainer, IFBB Pro Bodybuilder and Nutritionist Fouad Abiad. In 16 weeks, Fouad transformed my physique and helped me win two 1st place trophies and two overall figure titles in the span of just a few months! I was also lucky enough to gain a sponsorship with EAS Canada.

Today, I continue to work within the industry I love - by day I am the Marketing Manager of the Health and Pharmacy division of a national retail pharmacy chain and by night, I am a sports nutrition consultant, providing marketing and product development solutions for supplement companies.

I am also a contributor for some of Canada's leading fitness publications including, Inside Fitness and Musclemag's Reps. To top it all off, I also spend my time working trade events and attending local bodybuilding shows for EAS. You can count on the fact that I will always be involved in the bodybuilding and fitness industry in some way, whether competing in figure, writing for fitness publications, or marketing and developing supplement products to help individuals reach their bodybuilding and fitness goals!
