If you're tired of the same old oatmeal, try this fresh blueberry and almond version for a quick and delicious twist on a breakfast staple. Rolled oats take only minutes to cook on the stove, or if you have the time, substitute steel-cut oats for a heartier flavor and texture.
- 1 cup rolled oats
- ¼ cup natural almond butter
- 2 tbsp almonds
- ¼ cup blueberries
- 1¾ cup water
- Bring water to a boil, and add rolled oats.
- Cook the oats on low heat, stirring occasionally, for about 5-10 minutes or until oats have absorbed the water.
- Take the oats off the heat and stir in the almond butter. Divide into two bowls and top with blueberries and almonds to serve.
