Inspired by turmeric-flavored "golden milk", these photogenic no-cook overnight oats are jazzed up with an exciting spice mixture and tangy kefir, a fermented milk filled with lots of gut-friendly probiotics. Yum!

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • ¼ tsp ground ginger
  • ¼ tsp, ground cardamom
  • ¼ tsp cinnamon
  • ⅛ tsp table salt
  • 1½ cup low-fat Kefir, plain
  • 1⅓ cup rolled oats
  • ¼ cup ground flaxseed
  • 1 cup mango
  • 2 tbsp coconut flakes
  • 2 tbsp pistachio nuts

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the honey, turmeric, ginger, cardamom, cinnamon, and salt. Add 2 tablespoons of boiled water and stir to dissolve honey and spices together. Stir in kefir.
  2. Place 2/3 cup of oats and 2 tablespoons of flax in each of two wide-mouth pint jars or cereal bowls. Add half the kefir mixture to each jar or bowl and stir until all the oats are moist. Top with mango, coconut, and pistachios. Seal jar shut or cover bowl and chill overnight. The oats can be chilled for up to 4 days.
