His enrollment in the police academy looming, Joshua Pedalino dropped 103 pounds with hard-nosed training, a healthy diet and supplements.

"My weight problems began at a very early age," Joshua Pedalino admits. "Around age five I started to eat junk food and whatever I could get my hands on. I was a big fan of eating peanut butter with a spoon right out of the jar, cheese doodles, ice cream cake, cookies, chocolate bars ..."

And it got worse. In college, he continued his eating habits - "when I ran out of food I would live off of fast food and instant box foods," he says - and reached a high of 330 pounds in February 2005.

With hopes of becoming a K-9 police officer, Pedalino knew he had to get his diet and fitness levels in check, and fast. "I was lazy - I thought I had [plenty of] time to get ready for the academy," the 22-year-old says. "I ate unhealthy 85 percent of the time. I would work out once or twice every week and think I was in shape. But I knew I couldn't make it through the physical and mental training at 330 pounds."


Motivation For Change

Then came May 24, 2005. Just graduated from York College of Pennsylvania, Pedalino put aside all the excuses, bad habits and poor judgment and embarked on a serious training, nutrition and supplementation program. "I went to the local college with a buddy of mine and I walked up a hill eight times," he recalls.

"I was out of breath and I threw up. That's when it hit me hard that I was in the worst shape of my life. Being so out of shape made it very difficult for me to even workout. For the first seven months I was working out 2-3 times per day. I would lift three days per week and do cardio workouts every day," he says.

Tenacity:

Another key for Pedalino was tenacity. He wrote down everything he ate in a food log - "even if I ate something I wasn't supposed to, I put it in a log and I would have to answer to it in the book," he says - and stopped eating heaping plates of food. "I wasn't measuring foods, but I knew what proportions that a normal person would eat. Before I started this program, I was probably eating enough for 2-3 people instead of just one."

His key protein food sources were chicken breast, fish, steak, hamburgers, pork chops and turkey, while his carb staples included wheat bread and wraps, salad, broccoli and other vegetables, kidney beans, black beans, black-eyed peas and brown rice. He flavored dishes with low-fat ranch dressing and salsa.


A New Life

With the dramatic weight loss, Pedalino, with his Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice in hand, has now started his career. "The academy was challenging." he confesses. "I had to take it one step at a time, one day at a time. There is a strong possibility that if I went through the academy at 330, I might have done serious bodily injury to myself - it would not have been possible for me to make it through this academy at 330 pounds."

After taking the academy head on, with his new found energy and physique, Josh now walks the beat with a purpose, to protect and serve.

On A Mission.

As he continues his law enforcement studies, he also plans to continue his fitness regimen, with the full support of his fiancée Alexandra. "The lighter and stronger I get, the easier the workouts are, so I'll have to make my workouts harder to be more beneficial," he says.

"This has been a lifestyle change, not just a diet. I will continue to eat healthy and work out to keep in shape. Every aspect of my life has improved tremendously. I now have confidence that I never had before and no longer have any of the physical limitations that accompany all that excess weight. Thanks to some hard work and the assistance of a great product, along with the support of friends and family, I finally have my life back," says Josh.
