How Did You Get Started?

I owe it all to my middle brother, Bill, who was really into bodybuilding in the 80's. He taught me the basics of training in 1983, and I've been at it ever since, some years not too serious (through college, etc.), some years more serious, and then very seriously for the last five or six years.

What Workout Plan Worked Best For You?

I use a five-day split, ideally 2-on, 1-off, 3-on, 1-off. That seems to keep me right at my ideal training level, not under-training and not over-training, which I, like many bodybuilders, tend to lean towards.

What Nutrition Plan Has Worked Best For You?

I base my diet on my bodyweight and training phase (cutting, maintaining, or bulking.) I always take in at lest 2 grams of protein per pound of bodyweight per day and vary my carbs, depending on training phase and goals. I aim for fat to be no more than 25% of calories, but will allow it to exceed that some days when bulking.

What Supplements Have Given You The Greatest Gains?

I think proper Protein intake is the most important aspect of diet/supplements, along with Creatine and L-Glutamine. I like Cytogainer a lot when in a bulking phase.

Why do you love Bodybuilding?

It's such an intense sport, and very individual. And yet, on contest day, after weeks of dieting and training and carb-depleting and water depleting, there is a unique camaraderie amongst contestants, a powerful bond between us that we all share. It is a very special feeling.

What Are Your Future Bodybuilding Plans?

I plan to keep adding mass, and to compete at the Masters Olympia--I always set my goals high!

What One Tip Would You Give Other Bodybuilders?

Don't be cocky! There's only one God, and you ain't Him! The attitudes and name-calling of some bodybuilders only give the sport a bad reputation.

Who Are Your Favorite Bodybuilders?

Jay Cutler, Art Atwood, Eddie Moyzan (he's under appreciated) and of course, big Ronnie Coleman.
