  • Favorite Supplements: I like Muscle Juice (post workout protein, carbs, glutamine, and creatine mix) and Universal Animal Max protein.

How Did You Get Started?

I started bodybuilding as a teenager because I wanted something positive to put my competitive energies into. I was encouraged at an early age by a friend to try competing in a bodybuilding show. I first competed at age 18, winning the ANPPC Natural Teen Indiana and Teen Ohio titles. I continued the following year with the NPC Teen Indiana title, and the NPC South Bend title. After that, I was completely bit by the iron bug.

What Workout Plan Worked Best For You?

I always like to hit every body part once a week. I have tried every workout routine out there at one time or another, but I keep going back to a four or five day split, hitting every body part once. My current routine looks like this:

  • Monday: Quads, Hams, Calves
  • Tuesday: Chest, Biceps, Forearms
  • Wed: Off
  • Thursday: Back, Traps
  • Friday: Delts, Triceps, Abs
  • Sat: Off
  • Sun: Off

What Nutrition Plan Has Worked Best For You?

I eat clean year round. It is your basic high protein, moderate carb, low to moderate fat diet. I am a big believer in eating every three hours to keep your blood sugar levels stable, and to keep your metabolism in high gear. I usually allow myself a couple of cheat meals a week in the off-season, where I will eat whatever I want (pizza, Mexican food). Other than that it is chicken, lean red meat, tuna, protein powders, no fat cottage cheese, eggs, brown rice, oatmeal, whole wheat pasta and vegetables. I will also throw in Natural Peanut Butter of Flax Oil for good fats.

What Supplements Have Given You The Greatest Gains?

I like protein blends, creatine, glutamine, and post workout drinks to help aid recovery. My greatest gains have come from Animal Max protein, and Muscle Juice.

Why do you love Bodybuilding?

I love bodybuilding because of the sense of accomplishment and confidence it gives you. I love the fact that you get out of it exactly what you put into it. You can literally change your physique to the way you want it through education, trial and error, and old fashioned hard work.

What Are Your Future Bodybuilding Plans?

Competitively, I want to place top 5 in the Team Universe show. Personally, I want to continue moving in a forward direction by constantly challenging myself to get better on a daily basis.

What One Tip Would You Give Other Bodybuilders?

One tip I would give others is find out what works best for YOU. There is so much information and misinformation out there, it can get very confusing if one listens to everyone out there that has an opinion on what works best. Stay consistent, don't be afraid to try new things, and stay hungry.

Who Are Your Favorite Bodybuilders?

My favorite bodybuilders are those with the "pretty" physiques. Richard Jones, Shawn Ray, Dexter Jackson, and Darrem Charles. I think these guys have the complete package. Conditioning, mass, shape, symmetry, and a healthy appearance is what it is all about.
