Why I Got Started

After I graduated high school, I honestly didn't know what I was doing. So I kept to my old routine and just ate very, very unhealthy. I was never into the gym at all back then; I had a positive attitude towards everything except that. I got sick during the summer of 2010 and went to the doctor for a simple cough, I later found out that if I kept on eating unhealthy I would die at an early age. They noticed my heart rate was like I was at the gym working out, but all I was just doing was standing around doing nothing but being lazy.

To tell you the truth, It didn't hit me yet. As months went on I noticed I started to gain more weight, and then my cousin Ryan invited me to Misawa, Japan to go visit his relatives. It was just then I started realizing how out of shape I was. My uncle said something that hit me in the head, and it just got me moving. He called me big in a different kind of way, but I knew what he was talking about. If it wasn't for him saying something to me, I think I would have still been obese.

Chris rediscovered his heritage and then started a new tradition - being ripped and diesel.

How I Did It

I started in Japan just running from the gym and back. When we got back from Japan, I needed to make a lifestyle change. I promised myself I would lose weight for me, not anyone else. I needed to prove to myself that I could do it. It was either death at an early age, or be healthy and live longer. I think you guys know where this leads too.

From that day I got back from Japan, I was still used to their time zone, so if it was morning there I would wake up here at 3 o'clock in the morning here. From that point I would force myself to run at 4 o'clock in the morning for about two weeks. Day after day it got easier, and then month after month of eating right, I started to feel great and lost weight.

I have multiple bodybuilder friends who have helped me through my success with losing weight, which has helped me to find great workouts, routines, and to just simply eat right. I like to mix them up to trick my body.

Back to front: Chris shows the making of future greatness. Now if he'd just organize his closet.

Suggestions for Others

For everyone that is attempting to lose weight, don't give up after a week. It takes time to lose weight. You're losing weight and you just can't see it.

Just keep going and think to yourself for every step you walk, for every rep you make, for all the sweat that drops from your body, you know to yourself that you're accomplishing something that you as a person have been working for. Do it for "you" not anyone else, it's you as a person that's going to change your life not them, so you stay positive and keep shedding your weight.
