Optimum Serious Mass Max Review

The Claim:

50 Grams of Protein with Glutamine and Creatine Plus 1,250 Calories!

That's a lot of protein and calories. However, it is relatively low in creatine (only 1 gram). The usual maintenance dose for creatine is 5 grams daily. Also, it's low in glutamine and glutamine peptides (only 500 mg of each). Additionally, there is a significant dose of PABA (5 grams). This supplement has the biggest scoop I've ever seen for a supplement.

Serious Mass: the ultimate in weight-gain formulas. It supplies you with the tools you need to pack on the pounds and develop the physique you've always wanted.

Serious Mass

Serious weight gain requires serious calories. However, those who need the extra calories most, often have the toughest time consuming enough of them. For many aspiring to be bigger, highly-active metabolisms, weaker appetites and on-the-run lifestyles make consuming sufficient calories through whole foods alone a real challenge. With Serious Mass, you've got nothing to lose and lots to gain. We've consolidated over 1,250 calories, 50 grams of protein, 250-plus grams of carbohydrates, and 25 vitamins & minerals with added glutamine and creatine into every serving. Unless you have a physique where you don't want to pack on the pounds. If this is the case, I would recommend that you cease looking into weight gainers.

Each serving of this product contains 1250 serious calories derived primarily from protein sparing complex carbohydrates and a high quality protein blend consisting of whey protein concentrate, calcium caseinate, and egg albumen.

Most of the carbohydrates in Serious Mass are in the form of maltodextrin. It's always nice to see a blend of proteins, as opposed to only 1 or 2 sources of protein.

Creatine monohydrate, glutamine, choline and inositol have been added to optimize each strength training workout while a complete vitamin and mineral profile insures your body gets the balanced nutrition it needs.

Weight-Gainers Review: Optimum Nutrition Serious Mass Perfected?
I felt that the best way for me to make new gains without changing my diet too drastically or in an unsustainable fashion, would be to simply add high quality weight gain supplements? Here?s my Serious Mass review.
Author:
Matt Canning

As noted above, Serious Mass contains low amount of creatine and glutamine. However, there is a significant vitamin and mineral profile included in it.

I felt that claim was pretty much on point. Therefore, for the claim, I award Optimum Nutrition Serious Mass a 9/10.

Taste:

I sampled the chocolate flavor of this weight gainer. I found that it was a heavy milk chocolate taste. I felt that the taste was satisfactory but not particularly good. Therefore, for taste, I award the chocolate flavor of Serious Mass a 6/10.

Solubility/Texture:

I found that the solubility of this was less than satisfactory. Also, I found that it had a thick texture that I didn't mind. Therefore, for solubility/texture, I award Serious Mass a 6/10.

Review:
1250 Calories and in really good Fat/Carbs/Protien Ratios. Not alot of sugar, and a good taste. By swapping out my two midday protien shakes for one serving of this I took my maintenance diet (2500 cals) to a full fledged bulking diet (3750). Good price and GREAT product!

Effectiveness:

Serious Mass contains a load of protein (50 grams) from 3 sources, which is fairly impressive. Also, it contains a moderate amount of fat (4.5 grams) mostly from medium chain triglycerides. Furthermore, it contains a ton of carbohydrates (mostly derived from maltodextrin - a sweet polysaccharide that is a relatively cheap alternative).

With the 1250 calories that it contains, you can expect a noticeable increase in energy from a variety of sources. However, I would like to see more variety in proteins and a more diverse blend of carbohydrates especially. Therefore, for effectiveness, I award Serious Mass a 6.5/10.

Overall Review:

This product is very competitively priced. I was very pleased with their claim. The taste of it was satisfactory. The solubility was poor, but the texture of it was fine. The effectiveness of it wasn't particularly impressive. Therefore, for an overall review, I award Optimum Nutrition Serious Mass Chocolate flavor a 7/10.

Optimum Serious Mass Max Review

So you have been working out for over a year now and you just realized after looking in a mirror for about 20 minutes that you do not see that much of a change from last month. Your diet is good and consistent, you are working out regularly and you feel healthier.

Nothing wrong with that picture right? Wrong, a consistent diet can be good for maintenance and even losing weight, but eventually your muscle mass is going to increase enough to surpass the calories requirements you had a couple months ago meaning you need to up the calories intake. You are already eating 5-7 meals a day, what can the answer be?

Serious Mass by Optimum Nutrition can be your best friend in a scenario like this. A recommended serving of 334 grams or even half a serving when starting out in your post-workout shake is suggested, so you do not gain any unwanted fat from your first serving because your body is not use to the huge calorie intake.

Containing maltodextrin for its carbohydrate content it contains a whopping 252 grams of carbohydrates when mixed with water and 292 grams of carbohydrates when mixed with milk.

For the sake of this review I am going to be reviewing the consumption of Serious Mass with milk (mainly cause it tastes a h#ll of a lot better). So 291 grams of carbohydrates and 74 grams of protein - along with an astounding list of amino acids, vitamins, minerals and even a hint of creatine monohydrate - mean this shake has everything you need to get you through that one-hour hunger craze that most people experience immediately after a workout.

Personally I always thought taking a product like this would make me put on the pounds (of fat) just as easy as it would help me put on muscle. After some long thought I realized my post-workout meals contained even more calories than this and were sometimes very unhealthy.

Cooking, while starving, can make you desperate for a quick meal where you may resort to junk food if any is available. Taking a full serving of chocolate flavors Serious Mass after a workout satisfied my hunger and gave me time to think of and prepare a healthy meal to give me exactly what I needed to go on with my day.

I am not saying a weight gainer is for everyone, but if you think you need one and you are skeptical I suggest trying one instead of living in the world of "what ifs".

With 2 cups of skim milk in a blender all my skepticism was gone. The serving size seems large, but for a weight gainer this is normal. After mixing there is no bad texture, so do not worry about it not incorporating into the milk. The texture is smooth and the taste is about as chocolate as chocolate can be.

Overall Review

Overall a great product. I would give a 9/10 for its great texture, taste and flexibility in serving sizes. Great for bulking and even cutting cycles when portioned properly. Some of you may be wondering why I do not complain about the 20g of sugar, but simple carbohydrates like sugar are needed post-workout to quickly restore energy levels.

Serious Mass Chocolate Flavor by Optimum Nutrition is the weight-gain supplement reviewed.

First off, the taste for this flavor is great, so if you want to gain a lot of weight in a short period of time I recommend you get the twelve pound tub. Besides the price, there is extra incentive to buy this amount because if you like strawberry it is not available with the tiny six-pound edition.

This product contains traces of milk, egg, wheat and soy for those who have allergies.

Warning: Keep out of reach of children. Check with a qualified healthcare professional before using this product if you are under 18 years of age, or if you have any known or suspected medical condition(s). *See entire warning label when viewing product information.

I've read some reviews and people said they've gotten nice gains from this. My questions is, when you take this do you get gains by making you fat? I'm wanting to gain mass but keep my abs showing as well as they are right now.

Review:
This protein powder is tasty and helps with muscle. I use it right after my workouts to give my body the protein I need. It does require you to drink a lot to get the full effects. I noticed that after I drank it my stomach was full . But the next day it was lean. This protein powder also controls your appetite, I don't feel hungry afterwards. It's a great product.
