Q

How did your fitness journey begin?

My journey started during my freshman year of high school when I found Bodybuilding.com. I immediately opted for a healthy lifestyle, ate good food, and hit the gym to get in shape and look like the guys on Bodybuidling.com. From my freshman to senior year, I gained 35 pounds of muscle, but my journey really kicked into gear after high school.

I entered a male physique competition and got into the best shape of my life to inspire others. I started asking guys at my gym for competition advice and they told me to talk to Zach Butler. Zach changed my life. He's the founder of a physique and bodybuilding called Team Butler that focuses on training and preparing people for shows.

In June 2013, I started a 12-week bulk and changed to a cutting diet for 12 weeks before my show on November 2, 2013. There were points when I wanted to give up and felt like I couldn't diet anymore. It times of weakness, I went onto Bodybuilding.com and looked at guys like Steve Cook and Jay Cutler for motivation.

In the end, the sacrifices I made were worth it when competition day arrived and I was in the best shape of my life. I placed first in the teen division and met a minor stepping stone in my life. I couldn't have done it without Zach Butler and his wife Christina Butler. I also want to thank Bodybuilding.com for the great information and supplements that helped me survive the journey.

Cameron has played hockey and baseball since age 3, but couldn't play in college because he separated his shoulder three times!

There are many people who inspired me become who I am today. My primary inspiration is Jay Cutler, who I recently met at my competition. I also look up to Steve Cook because he's one of the best. Zach Butler was always there to push me harder. I consider Zach family.

When I didn't feel like going to the gym or was unmotivated, I went to Bodybuilding.com for new workouts. I also go to YouTube and watched Jay Cutler's motivational videos.

Most people say they can't finish. They start dieting and give up half way or go to the gym for a couple weeks and stop going. Don't give up. The gains will come if you just stick to your diet. If this sport was easy, everyone would do it.
