How Did You Get Started?

I got started right after I joined the military. I was browsing books in Barnes and Nobles and saw the Arnold Bodybuilding Bible...I became obsessed.

What Workout Plan Worked Best For You?

I started with a six day a week routine! Being a natural bodybuilder I quickly became overtrained. Now I mainly work 2 days on 1 day off, or a 3 day on 1 day off routine. For a natural you need plenty of rest and recovery time. I tend to lean more toward volume training. I am lucky to have a fast recovery time.

Offseason I tend to break my workout into something like this:

  • Day 1: Legs
  • Day 2: Chest
  • Day 3: Rest
  • Day 4: Back, Bi's
  • Day 5: Shoulders, Tri's
  • Day 6: Rest
  • Repeat!
I like to hit calves and abs a couple times a week, those are good muscles for me.

On season I hit something like this:

  • Day 1: Chest, Shoulders, Calves
  • Day 2: Legs, Tri's
  • Day 3: Back, Bi's
  • Day 4: Rest
  • Repeat!
I like to hit my abs every other day. I don't do a lot of volume precontest, but all my reps always stay between 6-12 on and offseason. Cardio is thrown in about every day or every other day.

What Nutrition Plan Has Worked Best For You?

Eat clean protein and a lot of water!

What Supplements Have Given You The Greatest Gains?

I have always thought protein and creatine have given me the best gains.

Why do you love Bodybuilding?

I love bodybuilding because it is a one man sport, you make or break yourself. You can't blame it on anyone else.

What Are Your Future Bodybuilding Plans?

I plan to continue to compete in natural contests. I feel that in these contests the playing field is level. I believe that you don't need drugs to take your body to the top. This winter I want to add some weight and do another show in the spring.

What One Tip Would You Give Other Bodybuilders?

If I could give one "tip" to other bodybuilders it would be to be consistent in your diet, your training, your rest. If you keep these things at the best level, you will grow. You don't need drugs, just time and hard work.

Who Are Your Favorite Bodybuilders?

My favorite bodybuilders include Arnold, Franco, and Lee Priest. Arnold is an extremely motivated individual. In and out of the gym he knows what he wants. I admire him for that, and because of this attitude I have found great success in and out of the gym. Franco's back is my inspiration for my back. I train it to look like that. I have a long way to go. Lee Priest because he is a machine. I admire all these bodybuilders because of their tight stomaches as well. A tight waste combined with a stacked body is a true sign of hard work.
