Believe it or not, I lifted in high school before my "before" photo, but the results weren't visible because of my poor diet. I actually worked out more often leading up to my "before" photo, but the workouts were poorly designed, so my results were extremely poor and almost pathetic.
I had enough of being "big," so my roommate and I designed a workout routine that put me on the path I'm on now.
From the start, I knew my diet needed to turn a complete 180 because I had nothing to show for all my past training, so I engaged in a completely different lifestyle starting with my diet.
Although I'm content with my results to date, I still haven't completely accomplished my goals because I'm constantly trying to better myself and my results.
Supplementation is often thought to play a big part in transformations like mine, but I used supplements because of their convenience. Dieting is by far the most important part to complete a successful transformation.
I kept my diet high in protein and healthy carbs so I could maintain sufficient energy for workouts. Refined sugars were only consumed directly before and after workouts. It was important to get 1 gram of protein per pound of body weight while maintaining a calorie deficit to lose weight.
Resume regular sets
The most difficult part of my transformation was the diet. I had to give up many foods that I enjoyed, but after a while eating healthy became a habit. I can no longer see myself eating the way I did in the past.
I do plan on continuing my healthy eating habits and workouts, but I'm not interested in competitions because I'm concentrating on graduating from college.
Anything is possible if you put your mind to it. Always keep your head up and try your hardest. Results in the future are worth all the work and effort you put in the past.
If you give 100 percent, you cannot disappoint yourself. Hard work makes the pay-off feel that much better. Eat good, look good, and feel good.
Bodybuilding.com does not disappoint. From countless amount of information available on the forums to all my supplement needs, this would not have been possible without Bodybuilding.com.
