How Did You Get Started?
How I got started. I think I just got sick of being the small kid in my year. I used to be really small for my age and found it hard to put on weight and always just wanted to bulk up a bit. One of my mates used to muck around with weights at home and used to work heeps on his biceps and I used to see him getting bigger all the time. This inspired me and I went out and got myself a set of dumbbells and done exactly as he did and then we used to always compare who had the biggest biceps and would try to out do each other.
Later down the track I got a bench press and some weights given to me. Then I started to train other muscle groups and started to see some good gains pretty quick. People started noticing changes in me and this got me even more motivated and I then started to do a lot of research into bodybuilding, training, nutrition etc. Then from there I just got hooked on bodybuilding and getting big. I joined a gym and I guess just went from there!
What Workout Plan Worked Best For You?
I think out of all the Programs I've tried the 1 which worked best would have been a program me and my partner worked out. It's a bit confusing to try and explain but basically we would train 3 days a week: Monday, Wednesday and Saturday but we had 4 workout days so say for example.
The first week may be as followed:
Then we would just keep on rotating it like that and then a couple of weeks later your chest and tricep workout would be back on a Monday and just keep going through like that. That way everything is constantly getting mixed up if that makes any sense. I can't remember the exact way we did it now but it was something similar to that. How we had it worked out each week - you train a certain muscle group and have a different amount of recovery days in-between.
What Nutrition Plan Has Worked Best For You?
Just eat, eat, eat and don't stop!! High protein and carbs! My metabolism works pretty fast so I have to keep on eating. I normally have about 8 meals a day.
What Supplements Have Given You The Greatest Gains?
For me just the good old protein powder! But will soon be trying creatine which I have heard a lot of positives about!!
Why do you love Bodybuilding?
That question I get asked a lot; like you know... Why do you do it? What do you get out of it? I can never really explain why. It's just something I do for myself I just love the feeling you get when your in the gym and when you make that rep gain or couple more lbs! And just the satisfaction you get out of it - since I have been bodybuilding I've felt a lot better about myself and the way I look and have had a lot more confidence.
What Are Your Future Bodybuilding Plans?
To get as HUGE as possible at a natural level. I plan on entering as many comps as possible and try and make a name for myself in the world of bodybuilding. Most of all just do the best that I can! I will be doing personal training as a career and one day down the track would like to open my own gym.
What One Tip Would You Give Other Bodybuilders?
I think the 2 most important points when it comes to bodybuilding is motivation and dedication! You must have the motivation and dedication to succeed and to be happy with yourself! It is a lot of hard work but in the end it all pays off; just don't give up!
You must realize that growth takes time - it isn't just something that happens overnight - it is going to take a lot of hard work and dedication to achieve that awesome physique that you are working towards... but by me saying this don't let it put you off, just get out there and do the best you can. The main thing is to be happy with yourself; don't let others make you think otherwise! Also keeping in mind the nutrition and sleep is just as important as the time you spend in the gym!
Who Are Your Favorite Bodybuilders?
The bodybuilder who always inspired me the most would have to be Arnold Schwarzenegger.
