How Did You Get Started?

I have always been really skinny, partly because of my genetically quick metabolism, but as well I wasn't eating much either. It got worst when I turned 14, as I have grown a whole lot in one year, and ended up being 6 foot tall and only 130lbs. At the same time I got really interested in martial arts, working out, etc., but there was no gym in my little town, so I decided to save up for a bench, a barbell and some adjustable dumbbells.

In the meantime, I started getting ready for the "real stuff" working out on a pull up bar in my yard as well as benching and curling with a home-made barbell from a steel bar and bricks on each end, as well as trying to gather info on the internet for my future workouts so that I wouldn't have to waste time. Soon enough I happened to win a science contest where I won some money and I spent it all on my home gym, and that was almost 5 years ago.

Since then, there was no way back and I have never had a break longer than 1 week, and I only take those against my will when I know it's necessary. Bodybuilding has become my lifestyle and a day off at the gym is a day that is not complete.

Thanks goes to John Daly, whom I met in early 2009, I've learned a lot from him and it's him to thank that I took up competitive natural bodybuilding.

What Workout Plan Worked Best For You?

I have tried many workouts since I started working out - various forms of splits, Max-OT, German Volume Training, etc. Some of them worked better, some worse, but since I got experienced enough to start training instinctively, that's what I have been most successful with. I constantly keep changing up the number of sets and reps, exercises I use, how much I rest, and I also incorporate a lot of beyond failure reps, supersets, drop sets, negatives, etc.

Theres a 3-5 minute light cardio activity for warm up before each workout. All sets to failure, not including warm up sets. Cardio activity 25-30 minutes on off days.

Day 1: Legs/Calves

Day 2: Chest/Biceps/Abs

Day 3: Cardio

Day 4: Back/Triceps/Calves

Day 5: Shoulders/Abs

Day 6: Cardio

Day 7: Off

What Nutrition Plan Has Worked Best For You?

I am naturally a hard gainer, so I must eat a lot just to maintain my weight, and even more to gain some. I always try to get a huge breakfast, and then keep eating a complete meal of protein and carbs every 2-3 hours with an occasional protein or EAA shake in between. I don't avoid cheat foods too much while in off season, as I need the extra calories to keep my weight from going down.

What Supplements Have Given You The Greatest Gains?

I am not a big fan of supplements unless one's nutrition is in place. Whey, BCAAs, vitamins and healthy fats are a must and I use those all the time. When an extra edge is needed, a pre-workout NO booster and creatine are good options.

Why do you love Bodybuilding?

What's not to love about it?! Besides making your body look good and keeping you healthy, it also keeps you disciplined and boosts confidence. And all that is just an extra to the feeling you get while at the gym, pump being the best - better than anything, like Arnold used to say back in the day.

What Motivates You To Follow A Healthy Lifestyle?

Besides the normal wish of being healthy, seeing yourself progressing at something is great motivation, as well as helping other people reach their goals and seeing their progress.

What Made You Want To Achieve Your Goals?

Not being happy with where I am is usually enough for me to go and do something about it, so as soon as I realized that I didn't want to look the way I did, it was enough to set a goal and go for it, adjusting it on the way and always trying to be better.

What Are Your Future Bodybuilding Plans?

I might be doing a show or few in the US next summer, depending on my financial situation. As to the further future, I'd like to get as good as I can naturally and be the best natural bodybuilder in the world - time will show.

What One Tip Would You Give Other Bodybuilders?

If you have doubts whether to compete or not - do it, it's definitely worth it! A tip from my own experience would be to rather take more time for dieting and preparation than too little, as rushing it in the end doesn't end up well most of the time.

Who Are Your Favorite Bodybuilders?

From current IFBB professionals, it would be Phil Heath, Roelly Winklaar and Mike Liberatore. The ones that are not competing anymore would be Flex Wheeler, Lee Labrada, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Larry Scott, Reg Park, Steve Reeves and Frank Zane, the latter being my favorite. I'm a big fan of classic bodybuilders and prefer aesthetics, proportions and balance over size.

What Features Do You Use On

I constantly visit the site to read the new articles, to look something up in the forums or just browse random stuff in order to learn more, as well as get pictures and information on recent contests. The store is another feature that I've been using a lot.
