How Did You Get Started?

I started lifting weights with my dad in my basement when I was about 13 when he bought a weight set. I did that for a year or so and then I was lifting after cross country practice and baseball practice at my high school weight room. My sport seasons ended but the lifting did not. I continued lifting in my basement with my dad, and I ended up retiring from my hobbies of baseball and cross country for my new found passion of weightlifting.

My dad realized how dedicated I was to weightlifting so he bought me a membership to a local gym. I met a lot of nice people there and having the equipment and knowledge from some of the people I met made me more determined. I went to a couple bodybuilding shows when I was seventeen and decided that I would compete in one the next year. With the help of my parents and my trainer, Rick Ruether, I did just that.

What Workout Plan Worked Best For You?

Day 1 - Back/Biceps:

Day 2 - Chest/Shoulders/Triceps:

Day 3 - Off:

Day 4 - Legs:

Day 5 - Repeat Back/Biceps:

Days 6 and 7 - Off:

Then start the new week with Chest/Shoulders/Tris for day 1 and Legs for day 2 and continue in that pattern.

What Supplements Have Given You The Greatest Gains?

I'm not really big into a whole lot of supplements. The main supplement I use is Beverly International's Muscle Provider.

Why do you love Bodybuilding?

It's nice to get stronger and be able to put more and more weight on the bar, but the best part of bodybuilding is simply seeing your own body progress over time. There is nothing like putting in hard work and lots of time and looking in the mirror and seeing it all pay off.

What Motivates You To Follow A Healthy Lifestyle?

I started playing sports when I was four years old and continued up into high school where I took on bodybuilding. I have always been a very competitive person and you have to be healthy if you want to compete. You can't sit around and eat junk food all the time if you want to be one of the first kids picked in gym class or one of the best athletes on every field you step onto.

What Made You Want To Achieve Your Goals?

To prove to myself that I could do it. I tend to be very critical of myself and make very challenging goals for myself to reach. It takes lots of time out of a day and lots of work to be put in to reach a goal, but there is no feeling like reaching a difficult, long sought after goal.

What Are Your Future Bodybuilding Plans?

I plan on competing in another show this October. Other than that, I don't have any really huge plans. Just take it one day at a time and do my best to get better with each day.

What One Tip Would You Give Other Bodybuilders?

Don't lose your motivation. Putting on muscle is a very slow process that takes a lot of hard work. It's easy to get down on yourself when you don't see results that you want and sometimes make you feel like you want to quit. But as long as you stay motivated and determined to put on that muscle and do what you need to do, the results will come.

Who Are Your Favorite Bodybuilders?

My favorite bodybuilders are Arnold, Ronnie Coleman, Branch Warren, and Dexter Jackson.

What Features Do You Use On

I always look around on's SuperSite for new workouts or exercises I can throw into my workouts to mix it up and maybe shock my muscles a little bit. I also use BodySpace.
