How Did You Get Started?
I began lifting weights freshman year of High School to gain weight and leg strength for soccer. Until 5 months ago I played both competitive and High School soccer. I began bodybuilding after watching the movie "Pumping Iron" starring Arnold. This movie really inspired me to train and sculpt my body.
What Workout Plan Worked Best For You?
I train 5 days per week, and never do the same body part within 48 hours. My old split was bis/tris one day, chest/back the next, and legs and shoulders the last day. However, I recently started chest/bis, back/tris, and legs/shoulders. I did this to prevent my body from becoming used to my workouts.
What Nutrition Plan Has Worked Best For You?
I eat as much as possible, six months ago I got sick and lost 25 lbs of muscle. After being sick for 5 months I am just happy to be able to eat again. I get as much protein as possible (I shoot for 1 gram per pound of body weight.) I also eat many carbs because I am concentrating on bulking right now.
What Supplements Have Given You The Greatest Gains?
I have seen the most gains from Creatine Monohydrate, I am now on a form of sugarless Creatine and it's excellent because of no extra water weight/retention. I also take Glutamine and Protein after workouts.
Why do you love Bodybuilding?
I love bodybuilding because it not only is a great form of exercise, but it keeps me challenged. I continually persevere, trying to add on a couple pounds. My other love is cars, and working on and modifying cars, so I treat my body like a car, and constantly try to make it better and stronger.
What Are Your Future Bodybuilding Plans?
I hope to one day compete in amateur contests within the next year. If all goes well I will continue competing more and more. I have not entered into an competition yet, so I am really looking forward to it!
What One Tip Would You Give Other Bodybuilders?
Visit Venice Beach! My friend and I went on a road trip this summer and worked out at both Muscle Beach and Golds Gym in Venice. Seeing multiple pros, and seeing how insanely large they are really inspired me to train harder and harder. Also, work out with a good partner. My friend Mike and I worked out this summer and because he is bigger than I, it pushed me more and more. It’s a real great way to continue training harder. Push yourself!
Who Are Your Favorite Bodybuilders?
My favorite bodybuilder and inspiration (like most people) is Arnold Schwarzenegger. However, my favorite modern bodybuilders are Kris Dim and Mr. O himself Ronnie Coleman. Ronnie is simply immense, but I have met Kris and he is a real nice guy and I admire how he is a rookie pro and is already making a name for himself.
