How Did You Get Started?

I started lifting with two older friends from my school who were the biggest guys around. I pushed my hardest to catch up to the weight they were tossing around. We were very dedicated to training at least five times a week. After they graduated, I found a new partner who helped me push to new limits.

What Workout Plan Worked Best For You?

When I first started, I followed the exact plans my older friends used for themselves. We did three days: chest, back/shoulders, and arms. Later, my friend's father got me into the powerlifting movements of bench, dead lifts, and squats. By implementing those lifts into my workout, I noticed more mass and huge strength gains.

  • Day 1: Chest
  • Day 2: Back and Shoulders
  • Day 3: Bis, Tris, and Forearms
  • Day 4: Quads, Hamstrings, and Calves
  • Day 5: Rest

What Nutrition Plan Has Worked Best For You?

I really should keep a better nutritional plan than I do, but I try to get as much protein into my diet as I can. I still eat almost anything. I try to eat as often as I can as well. My favorite foods are chicken and beef.

What Supplements Have Given You The Greatest Gains?

I started out with Creatine Monohydrate as my first supplement. It always has worked for me for an extra 10lbs of muscle weight and a lot more endurance in the gym. I've also tried Cell-Tech and Nitrix. Cell-Tech made me sicker than I've ever been. Nitrix didn't work for me either. I've taken the Nitro-Tech Bars and different Protein Powders, which help out some.

Why do you love Bodybuilding?

I love bodybuilding because your only limitation is yourself. I was a scrawny 6'0" kid and bodybuilding allowed me to become one of the biggest around. I love the discipline involved in training.

I love trying to put up more weight. My greatest accomplishment so far was getting my bench press up to 330lbs. But most importantly, I loved the time I spent with three of my best friends lifting together in the gyms. I wouldn't trade those times for anything.

What Are Your Future Bodybuilding Plans?

I hope to enter into a contest sometime soon. But if not, I plan to keep lifting in the same fashion I've been doing for the last three years. It's something I can't stand to live without.

What One Tip Would You Give Other Bodybuilders?

Find help from someone who knows what they're doing. They can get you started in the right direction. After that, experiment with new techniques and different lifts until you find what works right for you. But most importantly, don't give up.

Who Are Your Favorite Bodybuilders?

I admire so many of the professional bodybuilders. I've got signed photos of Jay Cutler and Johnnie Jackson as well as a poster of Ronnie Coleman on my refrigerator. Arnold Schwarzenegger is an incredible motivation to me as well. Dexter Jackson is another favorite.
