How Did You Get Started?

I began bodybuilding at the age of 14. I looked in the mirror and my reflection showed a skinny frame that I had to change. I was inspired to begin bodybuilding after reading books and researching information on the infamous, Arnold Schwarzenegger. I began lifting weights, which consisted of curling dumbbells and doing pushups daily.

I came across and it helped me create a great routine and I begin lifting seriously. I lifted for about a constant year and then stopped lifting to focus on growing and high school sports.

I began with a simple workout routine that I found in an article here on I started lifting using my father's old home gym equipment and now I lift using my college's great gym facilities. I began eating whatever was around to gain weight but eventually formed a diet that would help me gain muscle. This diet consisted of high protein (1.5g of protein per pound), high carbohydrates, and 3000+ calories a day.

I sprinted on my high school and college track teams as cardiovascular activity to keep from gaining excess fat and stimulate my body to gain muscle mass. Now I am back bodybuilding again at the age of 19, 4 years later lifting harder than ever. I realize now that I can completely transform my body into whatever I want it to be.

I love the feeling of the pump that my muscles get while I am curling a barbell or squatting more than my own body weight. Weight lifting is something that I incorporate in my everyday life and it helps me to eat better, feel better, look better, and live healthier!

What Supplements Have Given You The Greatest Gains?

I have tried a vast majority of supplements but these select few have been the rock of my training. Everyday I consume 48g of whey protein and a multivitamin. These supplements help complete my diet and give me the nutrition and macros that I need for muscle building. I feel that these supplements are essential for a great diet and all other types of supplements are icing on the cake.

100% Optimum Nutrition Whey Protein (Rocky Road), Multivitamin.

Why do you love Bodybuilding?

I love bodybuilding because it has now become a part of me. Bodybuilding enables me to control the way my body looks. It has made me feel a lot better about myself inside and outside of clothes. Creating a body that I have always wanted gives me the opportunity to show-off my hard training and even help someone who is just starting to lift. Ultimately, I love to body build because it has changed me as person and I feel healthier this way!

What Motivates You To Follow A Healthy Lifestyle?

What motivates me most to follow a healthy lifestyle is not only my image, but my health. I think that bodybuilding is one of, if not the healthiest, sports that there are. Before bodybuilding, I didn't pay attention much to what I ate and now I try to stay away from foods that will do more damage than good to my body.

What Made You Want To Achieve Your Goals?

Watching my lifts go up every week (or what most call "newbie gains") has been the most important thing that made me want to achieve my goals. In most sports you are rated amongst your statistics. When I get stronger it has the same effect on me. Being able to add 50lbs to the barbell while getting ready to deadlift has its' own unique feeling, which pushes me to achieve my goals everyday.

What Are Your Future Bodybuilding Plans?

Bodybuilding is not only a hobby for me, but it is now a way of living. I plan on clean bulking my way up to 195-200lbs and then getting in shape to compete in an amateur show. In doing so, I hope to continue enhancing my physique and using it to inspire young bodybuilders across the world.

What One Tip Would You Give Other Bodybuilders?

Lift hard and eat a lot! Try to eat a healthy diet and stay away from fast foods. Incorporate a cheat day into your diet once a week or every two weeks were you can go out and eat and not worry too much about a strict diet. Give each muscle group a week to rest and make sure you get at least 8 hours of sleep every night to ensure maximum recovery.

Your body is an empty canvas and you can sculpt it to be whatever you want it to be!

Who Are Your Favorite Bodybuilders?

My favorite all time bodybuilder is Arnold Schwarzenegger and my favorite current competing bodybuilder is Dexter Jackson.

What Features Do You Use On has been the single most helpful source for bodybuilding information for me. It is the first website I seek when I need help with an exercise and the first place I go to when I need to buy a new tub of whey. I mostly use the forums and communicate with other bodybuilders. I also check the SuperSite daily for new information and training techniques.

I have been playing around with the new feature, Bodyspace, which really enables me to view pictures, comment pictures, and give constructive criticism to others who are hitting the gym just as hard as I am.
