How Did You Get Started?

As I passed a full-length mirror in the locker room, decked out in spandex, I couldn't help but notice how the gymnastics season had trimmed me down. Whereas I had previously seen that puffy layer of fat as inevitable, I realized that there was hope for my body if I could continue to work out. That's when the sculptor in me took hold. I was thrilled to be able to shape my own body, and continued gymnastics-style conditioning even after the season had ended. Gradually, weight-lifting replaced most of the conditioning exercises (they didn't provide the same challenge that they did back when I was weak) as I learned more about bodybuilding.

What Workout Plan Worked Best For You?

  • Cardio every morning plus 2 gymnastics-like exercises that I made up
  • 45-minute workouts 4 days of the week
Monday & Wednesday: 3 or more upper-body strength training exercises, at least 2 lower-body high-rep exercises, 3 sets of V-ups
Tuesday & Thursday: 3 or more lower-body strength training exercises, at least 2 upper- body high-rep exercises, 3 sets of an abdominal whirligig that I made up.
Friday: If I didn't have a stress fracture, I would do a 30 minute run on this day. *sigh*...

What Nutrition Plan Has Worked Best For You?

What Supplements Have Given You The Greatest Gains?

  • Vitamin C pills have done a good job substituting candy and stopping free-radicals at the same time.
  • Whey and Soy protein powder Hydrogen dioxide
  • Vitamin B-12

Why do you love Bodybuilding?

I don't. I just can't survive a day without striking an endorphin rush, expending pent-up energy and stress, and stretching cramped muscles. If I don't use my body, I don't even see why I should have one.

What Are Your Future Bodybuilding Plans?

My immediate plans are to start a high-rep exercise plan and get proteins from a variety of grains, nuts, and legumes. Farther down the road, I plan to keep working out everyday, avoid being eaten by the cortisol monster, buy some supplements that might allay my stress fracture, and buy additional supplements that combat free-radicals.

What One Tip Would You Give Other Bodybuilders?

I would offer them a quart of water, and advise that they drink it. And then refill it. And repeat many fold.
