I first set foot in a weight room when I was in the fifth grade. I instantly knew that lifting weights/fitness was something that needed to be a part of my life. Even at such a young age, I was feeling completely driven by the feelings that I had to be around the weight equipment.
There are so many things to love about it! It's a great way to keep the balance in my life and makes me feel better physically and mentally. It allows me to spend time doing what I love. It gives me energy and requires discipline. It makes me appreciate what my body does for me and what an incredible machine it is. I could go on and on! It's definitely a lifestyle … and a big part of who I am.
Keeping my goals in mind and the excitement I get thinking about the next workout definitely keeps me motivated to train hard. Creating the healthiest mom inside and out, so I can keep up with my kids and show them the importance of eating and exercising.
Setting foot on stage was something I always wanted to accomplish, but never knew how to go about doing it. I looked at it as a challenge (as I suffer from terrible stage fright) and I'm not one to back down from a challenge!
To continue to be the best at this that I can be, and to inspire others to reach their goals!
It's never too late to begin a fitness program. Be consistent and remember that progress is ongoing. Persistency and consistency pay off!
My favorite bodybuilder is my friend Joan (Buffycat). She is by far the most dedicated, hard working, inspirational, and all around amazing person. She has the most drive and passion for the sport and is so generous in lending her support and help to others. And she has an AMAZING physique!
