I was the fat kid growing up. I was constantly made fun of and ridiculed. In eighth grade, I weighed 150 pounds and wished to be the same size as everyone else at every birthday party before I blew out the candles. Finally, I said enough is enough and started to eat better and work out regularly. Through hard work and serious effort, I lost 30 pounds and stayed at a healthy weight.
When I turned 18 years old, I started to lift weights and train hard. I did lots of research to learn proper form and technique. I changed my diet completely and stated eating six meals per day and supplemented properly. I'm a perfect example to prove everyone has the time to train if they want too. I'm a college student and work two jobs, yet still find time to work out five days per week. Fitness is truly a lifestyle that I fell in love with.
I'm driven by many things. Something as small a compliment drives me. Seeing myself get stronger drives me. Other fitness fanatics drive me. My goal to become an IFBB pro drives me. What fascinates me most about the sport is the concept that someone can transform their body into whatever they want.
Emma Kyle and Julia Souza, who workout at my gym, inspired me to be a guru. They are inspirational women in great shape and transformed their bodies completely. They taught me everything I know about competing in the NPC and lifting weights.
For inspiration, I went to Fitness Rx or Bodybuilding.com. Pictures of others inspire me to get stronger!
My dream is to be a spokesmodel for a fitness company. I'm currently in college majoring in public relations to achieve my dream. I also plan to continue competing in the NPC bikini division. My future goal is to win a Crossfit competition.
Don't compare yourself to others, strive to be your best and push to your limits.
Jaime Baird! I met her in person and she's the sweetest woman! She also looks amazing and writes very helpful fitness articles.
The exercise database is my go-to to learn new exercises and switch up my technique. BodySpace helped me reach my goals by tracking my workouts and progress.
