How Did You Get Started?

I started out just wanting to get into shape like most people but I quickly became addicted. The better I felt, the more I got into it and started reading more and trying new exercises and lifting more weights. One day a girl complimented me on my arms and then another day a guy asked if I compete.

I said no and he said I should and that made me feel good. He then told me about a show close by my home, so I went to watch and I wanted to do it after that.

What Workout Plan Worked Best For You?

I work on different body parts twice a week with pyramid training, consisting of 5 sets of 10, 8, 6, 8, 10 reps starting with the lightest and adding to heaviest then going back down to lightest, with weight heavy enough for failure towards the end.

I also switch the reps up after a month to 5, 3, 1, 3, 5 with heavier weights. I switch up the exercises every week one way or another with heavier weight, less rest in between or different exercises.

Day 1 & 5: Shoulders/Biceps/Triceps
Day 2 & 6: Lower Body
Day 3 & 7: Back/Chest/Abs
Day 4: Active Rest/Yoga Class

What Nutrition Plan Has Worked Best For You?

I work weird hours, 12 hour shifts - 2 nights on, 2 nights off and every other weekend so my eating schedule is different than most people. My diet is eating clean, I don't eat processed foods. When I bake, I substitute up to 3/4 cup of flour with protein powder.

Why do you love Bodybuilding?

This is my fountain of youth, I can enjoy life and activities like mountain biking, kayaking, and hiking. All the wonderful things to do are so much easier to enjoy when you're fit. It also helps with the everyday stresses and getting through life. I also like the attention and complements from people.

What Motivates You To Follow A Healthy Lifestyle?

The way I look in the mirror, I like to look at myself! How many women can say that? The way I feel, like I said this is my fountain of youth! I don't feel my age. My friends and family are supporting me and encouraging me. Even during the holidays at their house they have healthy choices to eat because of me.

What Made You Want To Achieve Your Goals?

My friends and family support mostly. I love working towards my goals that in itself keeps me going.
