How Did You Get Started?

When I was a young 16 yr old I had my arms crushed in a paper bailer machine working after school trying to help my mother make ends meet. The doctors said that they where too destroyed to save and they'd have to amputate at the elbows, my father said no way and do what you can to save them. To make a super long story short, I could not use my arms for a very long time because of the pain. I was looking out the window one day watching my friends play football and said to myself that this is it, I will not let myself turn into something like a piece of fruit. Before this all happened I was a drummer and knew nothing about weights, so one day I was at the super market and saw this magazine with Arnold on it, bought it, and the rest is history. I owe it all to God.

What Workout Plan Worked Best For You?

Over the years I have tried many routines, but always go back to the basics. My routine changes every 3 weeks for all body parts. I currently use a Monday, Wednesday, Friday split, and I rest on all other days due to my job and injuries.

Day 1: Chest/Shoulders/Triceps

Day 2: Off

Day 3: Back/Biceps

Day 4: Off

Day 5: Legs

Day 6: Off

Day 7: Off

What Nutrition Plan Has Worked Best For You?

Money has a lot to do with my nutrition plan. 6 to 8 meals a day, fruit with each meal, I don't eat after 8:00 at night and drink at last 2 gallons of water each day.

Meal 1: 3 AM

Meal 2: 5:30 AM

Meal 3: 8:30 AM

Meal 4: 12:00 PM

Meal 5: 3:00 PM

Meal 6: 6:00 PM

What Supplements Have Given You The Greatest Gains?

Why do you love Bodybuilding?

Well for one thing I can never stop because working out takes the pain away that I live with everyday. Also when you train for a show it's only you that's doing the work. If you give 110% at the gym and in your nutrition you have a good chance of doing well on stage, and it's you that makes it all happen.

What Motivates You To Follow A Healthy Lifestyle?

You can either spend your retirement years in the doctor's office 5 or more days a week, or you can learn how to live a clean life and do what makes you happy.

What Made You Want To Achieve Your Goals?

When I was in that first show back in 1978 Mr. Philly I did not place and went home with tears in my eyes. That night and many more I would dream about winning first place. For over 25 years that dream never went away until the 2005 NPC Debbie Kruck Classic it came true. I knew in my heart that if I kept pushing myself and overcoming all the things that come at you in life, that it was possible.

What Are Your Future Bodybuilding Plans?

I've got 2 more shows for 2010 one being the OCB Southern Cross Oct 9th. My goal by 60 is becoming an IFBB Masters Pro.

What One Tip Would You Give Other Bodybuilders?

Be true to yourself, there is no one to blame but yourself if you don't give 110%. Keep dreaming, because dreams do come true...they're still coming true for me every show I do.
