How Did You Get Started?

I got started in fitness after my third child was born. I was tired, overweight and out of shape. I bought a magazine with before and after transformations in it. I decided I was going to do that too! I joined a gym, wrote down goals, made an exercise log, and wrote down everything I ate. The changes in my body were amazing. I have never looked back!

What Workout Plan Worked Best For You?

Day 1 - Legs:

Day 2 - Shoulders/Abs:

Day 3 - Biceps/Triceps:

Day 4 - Cardio Day:

30 - 45 minutes of elliptical, treadmill or stair climber

Day 5 - Chest/Back:

Day 6 - Legs:

I do 30 minutes of cardio after my workouts, 5-6 days a week, and I also take boot camp classes a few times a week to change it up!

Why do you love Bodybuilding?

Fitness makes me feel strong, not only in the gym but also in every area of my life. It has taught me to set goals, work hard and do things I never even thought were possible. I seem to get twice as much accomplished then when I was not working out. The confidence I have gained in myself through fitness has been life changing. Plus it just makes me feel strong and sexy!

What Motivates You To Follow A Healthy Lifestyle?

The feeling of accomplishment motivates me to follow a healthy lifestyle. Knowing each day I can feel my best and work toward improving my health and fitness motivates me. Being out of shape was no fun and I never want to be there again. Also the support and encouragement I get from family, friends and BodySpace members keeps me on track and heading in the right direction each day.

What Made You Want To Achieve Your Goals?

When I saw that magazine of before and after transformations something inside me clicked. I decided I wanted to do that too! I had never even played a sport in my life. But for some reason I knew this is what I had to do. I read, planned, logged my eating, and set goals. It has been the most wonderful life changing experience for me.

What Are Your Future Bodybuilding Plans?

My future fitness plans are to continue competing in figure competitions this year and work toward earning a pro card. I qualified for the USA and Nationals this year!

I have also been asked to be a part of a huge new exercise DVD and infomercial coming out sometime this year! I am working on my fitness modeling portfolio and hope to obtain a sponsorship.

My true passion is to help other women to reach their fitness goals and to help motivate and support them. Helping other women/mom's feel good and confident about themselves is what fitness is really all about.

What One Tip Would You Give Other Bodybuilders?

It really does not matter what your age is when competing. It is all about doing your personal best. Giving it your all and feeling good, have fun up there on stage!

Set goals and challenge yourself. Surround yourself with positive, supportive people. Look at successful fitness competitors and see what they are doing. Most of all enjoy and have fun with it!
