How Did You Get Started?
I worked out off and on for track and football in high school. I started bodybuilding when I tested positive for diabetes. It's made me healthier than I've ever been.
I am a bodybuilder from Greeley, Colorado. I'm 33 years old 5'7" and 218 lbs. I was diagnosed as a diabetic in 2000, which was the lowest moment in my life. I went into depression for 2 weeks - when I heard the Lord speak to me and say, "Frank, fight back and be a positive example for diabetics and all the others in-between." That's when I took up bodybuilding. Since then bodybuilding has been my life. The most important things in my life today are my training, my wife, and my dogs.
My father was a great inspiration to me. He and my mother came here to Colorado as migrant farm workers. My father, with his limited paycheck bought me my first pair of dumbbells at 12 years of age. He told me I was destined to be someone special. Unfortunately, my dad passed away of complications from diabetes 12 years ago. But, I hope to make my father's words ring true. I have had top national bodybuilding competitors and judges tell me I have the potential and genetics to make it as a professional bodybuilder.
