How Did You Get Started?

Christine Moore, a girlfriend of mine, is a competitor. She talked about the excitement of being on stage, and how its fun to have a goal and obtain something you know will be extremely challenging! (Like having will-power when your husband is eating half a dozen donuts in front of you).

I have been competing for 3 years now. I have a 3 year-old. So you do the math... yes, competing was something I told myself I would do to get the baby weight off! I think a lot of mother's put all of their focus on their child and loose sight of their own goals and needs. I make sure to workout daily. Not just for myself but I'm setting a great example for Kirsten, my daughter, as well.

What Workout Plan Worked Best For You?

I do cardio 30-45 minutes EVERY morning. I either go walking/running, spin class or ride the Elliptical. Then I lift fairly heavy 5 days/week. I've noticed better results when I split up my cardio and lifting sessions.

What Nutrition Plan Has Worked Best For You?

Low-carbs and fat intake and high protein. My diet consists of egg beaters, grilled chicken, protein shakes/bars/cookies, lots of veggies and apples (not a big fruit eater)!

What Supplements Have Given You The Greatest Gains?

Juice plus Fruits/Veggies, Essential Fatty Acids, CLA, Green Tea Extract, Hydroxycut Hardcore.

Why do you love Bodybuilding?

I'm very competitive by nature, and extremely goal-oriented. Challenging myself and pushing the limits is what keeps me going strong. AND Fitness competitions were the perfect transition from doing gymnastics in High School and college.

What Are Your Future Bodybuilding Plans?

Fitness America Universe in Miami, FL. In addition, I would like to get more exposure in the Fitness Industry and share my story with other mothers. Life begins once you have children. You have to be a good example and you're not just living for yourself. Healthy happy mothers = Healthy happy children.

What One Tip Would You Give Other Bodybuilders?

You can never show-off, shine or smile too much on-stage. It's such an honor to be up there. Being on-stage is the payoff for all the hard work, dedication, sweat and tears!
