How Did You Get Started?

Basically its simple, sometime when I was 11 years old my father, who used to compete in local shows himself, asked me how I felt about lifting weights. I told him I'd try it and I started a Monday, Wednesday, Friday routine. Also all through middle and high school I played football so that contributed. However when I was 14 I noticed a change in my physique, that was the point when I began training seriously Mon.-Fri.

What Workout Plan Worked Best For You?

arrow Training Schedule:

However for the Teen, Collegiate, and Masters Nationals this year I trained twice a day for 3 weeks.

    Example:
    Mon.
(morning) - Chest & Back (Evening) - Legs
Tues. (morning) - Shoulders & Arms (Evening) - Abs & Calves
*Then repeat for the rest of the week until Saturday and rest Sunday.

What Nutrition Plan Has Worked Best For You?

I mainly eat clean all year round. For example, chicken, turkey, fish, egg whites, yams, brown rice, green vegetables, oatmeal. For competition its a different story. I mainly eat white fish or egg whites with broccoli or asparagus. I maintain low carbs and eventually work down to zero carbs.

What Supplements Have Given You The Greatest Gains?

When I first started training with Danny Padilla I used Optimum 100% Egg Protein. I mixed this with 1 cup frozen fruit, 1/2cup fat-free, no flavor yogurt and 1cup fat-free Lactaid brand milk. I also like Cytosport's Muscle Milk.

Why do you love Bodybuilding?

Because ever since I won my first show and feeling that adrenaline rush I've been hooked. Also I think its amazing how the body can go through such drastic changes by altering certain things.

What One Tip Would You Give Other Bodybuilders?

Listen to and know your body. It will tell you when you're overtraining or undertraining. Also when competing stick to your diet. No matter how hard it gets or how tempting that piece of cake looks don't eat it. There will be days when you don't feel like going to the gym, but you gotta know what you want and then work hard to achieve it.

Danny Padilla, Lou Ferrigno, Ed Corney, Gustavo Badell, & Jay Cutler.
