When I was in the U.S. Army, my best friend lifted weights and was getting all the attention from the girls. So I asked him would he show me how to lift weights and I stuck with it.
I workout 5 days a week (Sunday-Thursday). I do 15 to 20 minutes of cardio on Sunday and Tuesday. My current workout looks like this:
Meal 1: 6 AM Pre-Workout
Meal 2: 8 AM Post Workout
Meal 3: 11 AM
Meal 4: 2 PM
Meal 5: 5 PM
Meal 6: 8 PM
I love body building because of the confidence that it gives me. Growing up I was very shy and pretty much a loner. Bodybuilding has given me a huge lift in confidence. Also I love showing my friends who are younger than me that I'm a beast!
Simply put, I love living! As a man who is over 40, I feel that it is very important to maintain a healthy lifestyle not only physically, but mentally as well. Bodybuilding for me is a great stress reliever. When I go to the gym stressed out I look forward to being there. By the time I leave I feel great!
I have always wanted to compete in a bodybuilding contest, but always thought I was too small. So, I did some research and when I found out about the natural bodybuilding competitions I was very excited and decided to try and compete. I entered my very first competition and came in second place. Was very proud of myself!
To compete in 2012, and to win overall in a show.
Don't ever let anyone tell you that you can't or it's too late to be a bodybuilder.
