How Did You Get Started?

I started lifting after I got out of High School in the summer of 1973. I was a small built person. When I first got my draft card at 18 years of age, I weighed 130 lbs. My initials days of unsophisticated training took place at the basement of a friend's house with very little equipment, dirt floor basement. I loved it so much that I continued weightlifting for the way it made me feel and look. I entered my first bodybuilding contest in Tennessee in 1986. I was rewarded for my efforts at this contest by placing third and went home with a third place trophy.

What Workout Plan Worked Best For You?

During the week I train Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. I take Thursday off. I train Friday and Saturday and take Sunday off.

What Nutrition Plan Has Worked Best For You?

Off-season Diet

I pretty much eat anything as I have a high metabolism I eat three meals a day which consists of a high protein/low fat diet with plenty of vegetables and fruits 3 times a day.

I also take my weight gainers in between my meals - Muscle Juice by Ultimate Nutrition.

Contest Diet

    First Meal: 6 am, oatmeal and raisins
    Second Meal: 8 am, chicken, rice and steamed vegetables
    Snack: 10 am, 48 g whey protein
    Third Meal: 11:30, 2 large fresh hamburgers, sometimes 2 chicken sandwiches Snack: 2 pm, 48g whey protein
    Fourth Meal: 4 pm, chicken, rice & steamed vegetables
    Snack: 7 pm, 48g whey protein

Why do you love Bodybuilding?

I love the way I feel and look. I have a lot of energy and strength and can pretty much do any physical activity. I feel young and enthusiastic as I train with young people and keep up with current trends in music and other activities. It stabilizes stress and keeps the endorphins flowing.

What One Tip Would You Give Other Bodybuilders?

I think that it is very important to get a goodnight's sleep, at less 8 hours per night. It is also important to follow your workout plan.
