How Did You Get Started?
What Workout Plan Worked Best For You?
In starting my 12-week transition, first I had to find some kind of motivation. I felt the best way to motivate myself was to enter a before and after contest. I chose the EAS Body for Life challenge. Making this commitment gave me the motivation I needed to get the ball rolling. After the first four weeks it was not the contest or the cash prizes that kept me motivated, it was the fact that I was feeling so much better about myself, and had the support of my friends and family who I didn't want to let down.

Why do you love Bodybuilding?
I love bodybuilding because it has given me a chance to turn my life around. Before I started 12 weeks ago I was in a very depressed state. I didn't even want to get out of bed and go to class. I had become a very lazy unmotivated person. Bodybuilding has allowed me to climb out of the hole I dug for myself, fill that hole, and turn it into a mighty mountain.
What Are Your Future Bodybuilding Plans?
My immediate plans for bodybuilding is to compete in my first show at the collegiate nationals on July 21,22. My long-term goal is compete in all natural shows and at the Olympics in 2004. And from there who knows, the sky's the limit.
What One Tip Would You Give Other Bodybuilders?
The best advice I could give another bodybuilder or one aspiring to be, is to think of the bodybuilding as a religion. Religion is defined in the dictionary as: the body of persons adhering to a particular set of beliefs and practices. And that is exactly what bodybuilders do. As bodybuilders we live and breathe our sport. We not only have to find time to train, but find time to get 6 meals in a day as well. Which brings me to my second piece of advice. Diet. I believe that diet is at least 75% of the equation. I know that without proper diet I could not have made the kind of changes to my body that I did. You can have the best workout in the world, but without the diet to back it up you are just going to waste a lot of your time.
Who Are Your Favorite Bodybuilders?
Wow, that's a hard one. I admire all bodybuilders for what they have accomplished with their bodies. If I were to pick a few they would have to be Dorian Yates for his hard work ethic, Flex Wheeler for his amazing symmetry, Ronnie Coleman for his cartoon back and biceps, Jay Cutler for the amazing improvements he has made at such a young age, and of course Arnold. I can remember seeing Arnold for the first time as a little kid in "Hercules in New York" I nearly wet myself when I saw the size of this guys muscles. I had to ask my mom if he was a real person or a monster.
