How Did You Get Started?

I have always been involved in sports. Grew up in a very active and healthy home. My mom used to compete in bodybuilding and I would always look at her muscle mags and admire the physiques of Cory Everson, Anja Langer, and Marjo Selin. I started training with her after high school and have been working out ever since.

A friend of mine was competing in figure and I decided to give it a try. I was already living the lifestyle of training hard everyday and sticking to a healthy eating plan. I did my first figure competition and placed 3rd. Have been hooked ever since.

What Workout Plan Worked Best For You?

I tend to put on muscle pretty easy, but when it comes to leaning out I have to do lots of cardio. I keep my reps very high at 20-30. I focus mostly on shoulders, back and abs. I do track work for my legs to keep them from growing anymore. Pre-contest I do cardio in the morning on an empty stomach.

In the evening I do my workout and more cardio depending on how close I am to my show.

What Nutrition Plan Has Worked Best For You?

I follow a low carb, high protein diet. I eat 5-6 small meals a day.

My carbs come from oatmeal or yams. My protein comes from chicken, fish, tuna, egg whites and whey. I eat lots of vegetables too. I have a big appetite, so consuming smaller portions for me is tough, but ideal for me too lose weight.

I eat pretty clean year round which I find it easier come pre-contest time. It also makes those times when I do go out and eat so much more enjoyable.

What Supplements Have Given You The Greatest Gains?

I take your typical vitamins & minerals. I also include digestive enzymes, energy drinks (Redline & Shockwave are my favorites),
whey protein and glutamine.

Why do you love Bodybuilding?

It keeps me healthy, focused and happy. I love the challenge it gives me and the reward at the end.

What Are Your Future Bodybuilding Plans?

I will always be in the gym and eating healthy, but as long as I am competing I want to keep improving myself and what I bring on stage.

What One Tip Would You Give Other Bodybuilders?

Do this for yourself and focus on your own personal best. Also have a good support system. Training and dieting can get really rough especially when it is day in and day out. When you surround yourself with positive people in your corner, it makes it that much easier.

Who Are Your Favorite Bodybuilders?

We all work so hard to achieve the same goals. I respect so many of the competitors out there. Some of my favorite physiques are Mindi O'Brien, Cory Everson and Monica Brant-Peckham. All around beauty and personality would be Jenny Lynn.
