Body Transformation: Stacy Stepp-ed Up Her Fit Game

Stacy was tied down by yo-yo diets that promised quick results and couldn't shake excess weight. See the plans that broke the chain and released her gains!

Why I decided to transform

I was blessed to have active parents who taught me the same values. At age two, I was placed in dance (ballet, tap, jazz, acrobatics, pointe, and cheerleading) and sports (soccer, softball, volleyball, basketball, and track).

I was taught that I could do anything if I put my mind to it and received a volleyball scholarship at a junior college.

After college, I stayed active, but my eating habits became unhealthy. I slowly put on weight and attempted to lose it by yo-yo dieting.

When a diet failed, I put on more weight than when I started. The psychological effect crushed my confidence and I felt weak and unhappy. It was caught in a vicious cycle by age 34 and gained 30 pounds that wouldn't come off.

I never lost my passion for fitness and followed athletes I saw in fitness magazines on social media. I noticed the IFBB acronym behind their name and researched its meaning. That led me to the professional bodybuilding community.

I started following local athletes too. I loved the training and discipline behind their transformations and committed to follow the lifestyle.

How I accomplished my goals

I started working with a coach and other competitors to guide me. The bodybuilding community is great because everyone is supportive. I reached out to others when I struggled or made mistakes and continued to fight.

What aspect challenged me the most

"Don't believe any diet or program that promises quick results. If you want real results, it takes a lifestyle change."

Nutrition is the hardest to control. I'm a carb addict. I crave chips, bread, and anything crunchy. I've never been a person to have one serving. When I start, I can't stop.

That's why I don't keep unhealthy food around. My craving for snacks slowly went away. Food is an addiction and you must be cautious to break the habit.

My future fitness plans

I'm currently training to cross over into the NPC figure division. I hope to compete in one more show in 2013. I obtained my personal trainer certification through NASM and am a fitness coach.

I love writing plans online to fit my client's lifestyle so they can reach their fitness goals. I'm constantly working on my physique and am excited to see where this path leads.

Suggestions for aspiring transformers

We are programmed to think change should be instant. Don't believe any diet or program that promises quick results.

If you want real results, it takes a lifestyle change. Reach out to people who went through the process. There's a community willing to help.
