Product Overview

Origin & History: Pea Protein is a natural, vegetable-based protein powder derived from yellow peas (Pisum sativum). Yellow peas are more commonly known as "split peas" and are used extensively in food preparation such as in soups & purees. Most commercially available protein powders are derived from soy, rice, eggs, or dairy, which are often problematic for those with allergic dietary concerns. We've chosen Pea Protein because it is a plant-based, hypoallergenic protein that yields a high biological value (65.4%). The BV is an accurate indicator of the biological activity of protein. It measures the actual amount of protein deposited per gram of protein absorbed. High BV proteins are a better choice for increased nitrogen retention, supporting immune system function, and IGF-1 (insulin-like growth factor stimulation).* They are superior for reducing lean tissue loss from various wasting states than proteins with a low BV score.*

Through a clever extraction and purification process, our Pea Protein is concentrated from the normal level of 6% in fresh peas to 90% protein content. This unique process produces a protein powder that is highly soluble and easy to digest.* Pea Protein is ideal for vegans, offers an excellent nutritional profile, is free of gluten, lactose, and cholesterol.

This is the worse tasting protein powder I have ever tasted. It's like someone took a giant dump in my mouth. I took one drink and had to choke it down. DO NOT BUY THIS! IT IS AWFUL!

I used to subsist on this protein powder, as it was one of the first vegan (non-soy) protein powders I ever came in contact with (that was also 100% sugar-free). I would make pancakes with it, and I thought it was delicious. Then I started to notice something... I started to get really bad headaches a few hours after consuming this protein powder and couldn't figure out what the deal was, but then I made the connection, and I stopped eat it and BAM = no more headaches! Alas, I no longer consume this protein powder.

I wouldn't say Im a huge fan of Pea Protein but I like it good enough. This protein tastes HORRIBLE! The consistency was way different then others as well I do NOT recommend this product.

This Pea Protein makes a great alternative for people who have problems with other forms of protein (lactose intolerance, vegan/vegetarian, etc.). At 25g of protein per serving, 20 servings per container, and $20 a pop, it's a good value. The consistency of this product is a little different than Whey protein. Pea protein tends to be a little coarse in comparison, but it's not bad. Overall this is a good product. In my opinion, the chocolate flavor was significantly better than the vanilla.

The nauseating aftertaste combined with a pea texture and hint of chocolate bring terrible protein shakes to a new level. I'm glad i went with the smaller option as's return policy is not what I thought for a supposed reputable site.

I have long been a user of whey based products and wanted to try something more veggie friendly. this protein got decent reviews so ..... OMG does it taste bad! At least it does if you drink it straight. I did try mixing it 50/50 with a whey protein and found it palatable. Also, if you abandon the idea of it as a "sweet" shake and turn it into the base for a vegetable soup - lots of pepper helps- it's also palatable. It's not "tasty" by any means, but you can get it down. I might mention that I do like split pea soup. If you don't, then don't even try it! Other than the bad taste, it does mix up easy . The texture is a little more "grainy" than a whey shake.

I love this protein! I have tried many different brands and flavors and this one has it all! It mixes easy in my shaker cup and tastes delicious! :) I definitely recommend it!

I have a mild dairy allergy so this is an amazing alternative. The taste and texture remind me of protein from a couple years ago ...still good flavor...but it is a very clean product. Very low calorie for 25 grams per serving. Thanks for a great whey alternative.

Has a lot of bang for the buck. Great amount of protein and mixes well. Tastes great with Vanilla Almond Milk.

Being a vegetarian, I was looking for a non-meat based protein that didn't contain soy either since soy tends to leach the toxins from the soil into the product. I tried this protein drink and was very pleased with it. I mix it with almond milk and it tastes fine. Like any protein drink that I have tried the consistency, one has to get used to, but overall I like the product.

I received a sample packet of this pea protein. I mixed the contents of the packet into 8 oz of lowfat milk. The result was perhaps the worst tasting beverage I have ever had. I would strongly recommend that you try a sample before purchasing 2 pounds.

I am a Vegan and wanted to vary my protein intake as much of it is soy based. The quality of this protein is good - 25 grams of protein per serving with a full spectrum of amino acids. Very digestable. I've seen strenth gains since taking it. That being said, the taste is just awful. It is tough to mix and has a grainy texture. The best way to drink this is hold your nose and chug.

Intended to use this to load protein before and after workouts. But the sweetener makes it VERY hard to swallow! I can deal with the grainy texture, as just about any powders will be that way. I would definitely buy more if there was an option with no sweeteners added as I can measure and mix my own additives. The sweetener/flavors are just too overpowering for heavy protein loading!
