New Feature! - Maxed Out Mario's Workout Album Of The Week!
Take a good look; Staind may look like Korn or Limp Bizkit tribute band. But within the first few seconds of Break the Cycle, Staind recalls the era of early alternative rock, when bands created emotional realism, and left the big hair and double gripped, head banging monster ballads at the door. Misery Rock loves company: Bands such as Nirvana, The Smashing Pumpkins, the Stone Temple Pilots have shown us what emotion can do for rock and roll, but Staind has proven that it takes more than scream and anti establishment lyrics to stand out amongst the numbers. As already demonstrated by "Outside," the acoustic hit from the Family Values Tour 1999 album, Staind does not need to break eardrums to impress anyone.
Break the Cycle is new, honest look into difficulties that can hit people from any aspect, including your workout. The title of the album refers to misery passed on from generation to generation, specifcally singer Aaron Lewis. The songs Break the Cycle, wrap up all of this pain into a melodic package that is sure to inhibit stubborn movtivational levels. With a soothing tone and anthem like quitar, Staind could be looked at as Rocks most song-orientd, sensitive band.
We have all had those moments when we step forward into the gym preoccupied with what's on the outside, your focus and determination, gone...Most of us have to face these demons at least once weekly. Break the Cycle is a poster child for emotional trauma and singer Aaron Lewis will help you work out your demons through songs like "Change" and "Outside". " I will try to break away from all the hate I'm feeling/for everyone of you that's ever done me wrong/ I need to justify the reasons for the way I'm living/ I guess I can't 'cause I don't feel like I deserve it" ("Change").
Instead of walking away from the gym next time, or quitting because you want to get out of there early, I would suggest throwing on this disc and turning your lack of motivation into one last set or one last rep. Bodybuilding is like Misery Rock in a way; songwriters often talk of demons through their art, but rarely do we bodybuilders make it quite so literal.
In a sea of misguided pop stars, and over paid millionaires, get pumped because Rock is back.
OVERALL WORKOUT-ABILITY RATING: 8 Although Staind provides a slighlty softer approach at Alternative Music, motivation is high. When you get done listening to this album, you wil be begging to tell this guy that you are "sorry about his life". - Click here to order or find other reviews.
