Sep 29, 2014 12:35 PM: I have replaced this exercise with crunches/leg lifts in the same amount of reps. Does much better for me. With the sit up's I add weight to increase difficulty.

Sep 27, 2014 10:32 AM: This exercise does nothing to affect the abdominals (increasing weight does not change that). Since the weight is so high up on your shoulders it really is your upper body tossing the weight around and eventually it will get to your elbows.

You don't have to twist your body while keeping it straight, else it is just like twisting for nothing, slightly bend in cross when twisting as if you trying to touch your shoulder on to your knee. For more effect try to pull your stomach inwards while twist

Mar 10, 2013 11:59 PM: If you are worried about using a barbell(weight) then go down to your hardware store and buy a wooden broom handle (old-school-way) and use that. No weight but it helps keep the motion going. Been doing the Kris Gethin 12wk and it works well for that.
