Apr 24, 2016 10:30 PM: This exercise is best done without Barbell. Just hands on the back of your head and go. I feel a satisfactory burn all over my abs.

Mar 20, 2016 2:23 PM: Did nothing for my abdominals or my obliques. The only place I felt anything was some minor soreness in the triceps from stabilizing the bar. Given how long doing Gethin's "300 rep warmup" takes, you are wasting time you could spend doing something else more effective. I'd rather stick to...+See More

Jan 18, 2016 12:00 AM: Bodybuilding.com should list up the exercise which is not recomended. Actually rather than score 1/10, i actually wanted to score Minus 10.
This exercise is not very effective to abs and oblique but also very bad for shoulder and neck.
The next day I had a headache which came from unnecessary...+See More

Dec 1, 2015 2:07 AM: Yesterday was the first day for me to do this exercise and I thought "wow 300 reps! I'm going to be sore". Today I feel nothing in my abs but my triceps and chest are sore from the other moves so I thought maybe I did them wrong. Then I read everyone's reviews. Thanks for reminding me that...+See More

Jun 16, 2015 2:10 PM: I don't like this exercise. I feel like I'm wasting my time. I don't feel as if it's doing much for my obliques. Plus, my shoulders are very sore afterword.

Jun 11, 2015 10:59 AM: Horrible for your spine! Don't do these! I did this exercise three days in a row and now have a bulging discs in my lower back! It set me back 2 months. Just because an exercise is in your workout plan doesn't mean you have to do it. Skip it!!

Mar 1, 2015 8:02 AM: As a warm up, doing a moderate amount of reps on this could be good, but as an ab exercise, it's a complete waste of time. I love the other Gethin exercises, but this one is a good way to not only waste 10 minutes of your workout (300 reps), but also a good way to make your lower back, shoulders, and...+See More

Jan 25, 2015 9:31 AM: I have done an exercise similar to this years ago, only I used a non-weighted bar/broomstick to lay my arms on, then as you twist, bend your body towards direction you are twisting to engage the oblique's.
But now I use the machine, much more efficient ;)

Dec 24, 2014 5:06 AM: Did this excercise yesterday, felt so embarrassed as everyone was just watching me thinking "what the hell is he doing?". Just a waste of time, it is suppose to work oblique, I would suggest people to use other oblique exercises instead of this.

Sep 27, 2014 10:32 AM: This exercise does nothing to affect the abdominals (increasing weight does not change that). Since the weight is so high up on your shoulders it really is your upper body tossing the weight around and eventually it will get to your elbows.

Beware of this exercise it only serves to loosen...+See More

Sep 12, 2014 7:57 AM: There is a trick in doing this exercise. You don't have to twist your body while keeping it straight, else it is just like twisting for nothing, slightly bend in cross when twisting as if you trying to touch your shoulder on to your knee. For more effect try to pull your stomach inwards while twist

Jul 17, 2014 12:13 PM: I've done this every day for 2 weeks and instead of feeling a burn (or soreness) in my abs, I feel pain in my lower back and my arms. Although I'm sure there is a reason for doing these, I certainly don't see or understand it.

Jul 15, 2014 1:56 PM: At first I felt the same as most of you about this exercise. I didn't see the benefit to doing these and regularly felt pain in my lower back, neck and shoulders. May 20, 2014 12:28 PM: I have tried these a couple times to make sure my findings were clear. You cannot feel anything when you do these, you are actually more likely to hurt yourself then any benefit that you will ever see.

Apr 30, 2014 2:33 PM: I first tried this with the barbell and found that I was working more of my shoulders and chest. Really didn't feel anything in the stomach areas even when I upped the weight. So what I ended up doing was using an alternative. I use the Abdominal Twist Machine or Torso Rotation for this. By doing this,...+See More

Mar 24, 2014 10:44 AM: I am doing these as part of the Gethin 12 week also. You don't feel them in your abs, and 150 reps twice a day every day seems like overkill. I have never seen anyone else in the gym doing these, let aloe 150. The gym owner asked me recently (basically) what the hell I was doing them for. I often wonder...+See More
