Workout
What Is The Best Workout When You Have The Common Cold?
I believe the best workout when you have the common cold is a high intensity circuit type workout, implementing mainly bodyweight exercises. After warming up for 5-10 minutes (jump-rope/jogging and dynamic stretching) I like to do a workout from Crossfit titled "Cindy." It is simple, yet effective.
Cindy - As many rounds in 20 minutes as you can manage:
- 5 pull-ups
- 10 push-ups
- 15 squats (bodyweight)
- NO REST (or as little as you can manage)

This is a great conditioning workout and really gets your body temperature elevated. I feel like this is the best workout because if you push yourself you can sweat out your cold and feel much better. Also, weight lifting with a cold may be discouraging due to the fact you may be weaker than normal. With bodyweight exercises it's more a matter of how many rather than how much.
Traing With A Cold
How Much Can A Cold Effect Your Training?
This is all dependant on how much you let it get to you. There will be obvious lower strength and endurance, but when it comes to a workout like the one I mentioned above, it's all about mind over matter. Your drive to succeed is what will keep you going.
You can't let your cold get to you. You have to fight it. There can be weight loss, strength loss, and even a loss of drive to work out. But you have to force yourself to eat, train, and strive to be better. Bodybuilding is never easy. If you think it is then you aren't going hard enough.
Getting Rid Of A Cold
How Can One Get Rid Of A Cold Quickly?
The best way I found to get rid of a cold quickly is to do intense training or cardio where you can really sweat your cold out. Also, maintaining your diet, water intake, and proper sleep are all vital factors. After working out, sitting in a sauna or steam room can really help. Glutamine can also help to raise your immune system's strength. Teas and soups can also make you more comfortable.

Prevention - What Can You Do At The Gym To Keep From Spreading And/Or Contracting Viruses Like The Common Cold?
Always carry a towel with you and make sure to keep your sweat to yourself. Wipe down equipment with disinfectant after use and avoid touching your hands to your mouth, nose, or eyes while at the gym.
Stay away from anyone who looks like they could be sick and make sure to cover your mouth when you cough or sneeze (NOT WITH YOUR DIRTY HANDS!). Lastly be sure to wash your hands thoroughly when finished!
