You can never be too fit!

After achieving some initial success at a local gym several years ago, the love of the irons got into my system. This new passion ignited the desire to learn the science behind lifting weights and nutrition.

Diane Fields

Background

Is it possible to achieve a physique transformation over the age of 40? Yes, you can achieve your physique goals while improving health, wellness and longevity. And along with her own physique transformation came a lifestyle change that resulted in the formation of a unique fitness company, Legendary Fitness, LLC, designed to help the baby boomer generation redefine the aging process.

As an ISSA Master Trainer, Specialist in Fitness for Older Adults and Specialist in Performance Nutrition, Diane saw some common injuries in baby boomers called, boomeritis. The over 40 population requires special attention while engaging in resistance training and cardiovascular exercise, as well as, sound nutrition and additional recovery times. First-hand experience of achieving significant weight loss through dedication to a lifestyle change resulted in carving out a niche in the baby boomer market place, where she quickly became a popular fitness writer with articles published in magazines, books and on websites.

In fact, it was one of Diane?s baby boomer articles that prompted the current writing collaboration and life partnership with IFBB bodybuilder, Dr. Richard Baldwin. Richard, recently named a Legend of Bodybuilding by IronMan magazine and Diane teamed up to write the over 40 fitness column, Bodybuilding for Baby Boomers, here on Bodybuilding.com. Together they publish a weekly health and fitness e-newsletter through their website, www.legendaryfitness.com and are about to begin writing a training and weight loss book aimed at people over the age of forty.

Diane has been nominated to an advisory committee on the National Board of Fitness Experts, a group of fitness industry leaders and medical experts that are shaping the direction of the personal training industry with the introduction of nationwide standards through the design and implementation of the first set of National Board Certification Examinations scheduled for February 2005. She is currently working on a certification in Fitness Therapy and completing a second master?s degree at Florida State University.

She can be contacted at fitnessgirl56@yahoo.com.
