I'm definitely going to do this!! If anyone needs a motivational buddy feel free to use me. I love these type of challenges. If you need a plan I recommend "BODY FAT JEN MASTER!" program with 30-60 sec rest in btwn each set. It really works, and gives your body a challenge. I also recommend using Advocare products they are affordable and healthy. I have samples if anyone needs any. Good luck to everyone. Let's make some fat cry! =)

Did this challenge a few years back and unfortunately was unable to finish due to serious health and injury problems . I went from 255 to 180 and made the best ME I ever remember. Although I didn't finish, I worked my butt off and changed my life directly because of this site and this contest. I have since got really depressed and have been fighting many problems. I have went up to 277lbs and have lost any muscle I had gained back then. Time to fight through the pain, let go of excuses, regret, and doubt. Fight through the depression, and finish what I started back then. Good luck to all the fellow challengers. Work hard and stay the course. I don't plan on quitting. You have now officially met your greatest competition. I plan on winning. This isn't just for a lifestyle change or to look good this time around. This is to take it all. This is to win it. I have " Commitment To Excellence" as the great Al Davis once said. You have been warned...bring it all or don't bother! Let's do this!!!! We can all succeed but only one of us(1male,1 female) is going to win.

Cant wait! My only set back through all this will be the fact that I partially tore my meniscus back in October while hiking. So my cardio is going to suffer a bit. Anyone have a suggestion as to how I can work around this??

I had a torn calf and it was hard doing cardio.

There was a machine at my gym where there was a cardio machine for your arms (it looked like a bicycle with arm peddles).

It gave me a workout and made me sweat.

Just remember...anything that can get your heart rate up can be cardio. I try to shoot for 140-155 bpm

I know that machine. I used it when I was rehabing from shoulder surgery. Unfortunatley I go to an oldschool golds gym. So thats way too fancy for it lol. I will experiment with a few things before the challenge starts to see what feels best. I will also try and cut my rest periods down to 30-45 seconds between sets. Try to keep my heart rate up the entire workout should help too

Use supersets and compound exercises to make sure you are burning more calories while lifting. Another great way to burn fat is kettlebell swings. It will have almost no impact on your calf and if you do it tabata style (20 seconds on, 10 second off for 4 minutes) it can help you tremendously.

There was an episode of Extreme Weight Loss: Bob that the contestant had similar issues and he was able to still get his cardio in with out being able to walk because of knee issues. You can watch the full episode on hulu or amazon. Hope that helps!

Here's a checklist to make sure everyone doesn't miss anything:

1. Register for the challenge- This is done anytime between December 16th and January 12th no later than 11:59 PM MST on this page: http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/100k-challenge.html

2. Submit your 3 (Front, side, and back) before pictures anytime between January 13th and January 17th no later than 11:59 PM MST with a newspaper dated between those dates. (It is also encouraged to input your weight, body fat percentage, measurements, etc before, during and after the challenge).

3. Implement your training plan for 12 weeks, be as active as possible on bodyspace(fitboard,blogs,progress pictures,bodygroup conversation,tracking workouts, etc).

4. Anytime between Aprill 7th ( 12:01 AM MST) and April 11th (no later than 11:59 PM MST) you will submit 3 (Front, side, back) after pictures and write a bodyblog about how you achieved your transformation (at least 1 paragraph long).

I did Kris Gethins 12 week and to me that was more of a fat loss program. I havn't done the Shortcut to Size but plan on doing it for this challenge. My friend did shortcut to size a wile back and the results were highly noticeable. All in all its all about what you want out of this challenge.

So pumped to do this.
Been going to the gym with my other half for months now but it's hard to stay motivated. Even if I don't win anything it's nice to have that extra incentive. Wife and I already have our meal plans set up (her to lose, me to gain). Daily workout routines setup (thanks to bodybuilding.com). Also invested in our supplements and vitamins to help us hit it hard and keep us going! Good luck to everyone else. I hope to see people sticking with it and pushing each other with support.

Good idea is to start slowly easing into healthy diet. We have 3 weeks before the contest starts so if we start adjusting our food intake every day, we will be ready by the time contest begins. This way you will not shock your system completely by dramatically changing your complete diet.
