Derek Tresize

Background

Derek Tresize is a personal trainer and fitness consultant certified by the American Council on Exercise with two years of experience training clients to improve their fitness, physical performance, overall health, and quality of life. He has worked with a wide variety of clients ranging from college level athletes, to the elderly, to children suffering from severe weight problems. Derek is currently pursuing a degree in Biology with an emphasis on Molecular Biology, as well a minor in Economics. He actively seeks out coursework that relates to his fitness interests and has taken courses in organic chemistry, biochemistry, cellular physiology and molecular genetics. He has participated in the sports football, track and field, cross country distance running, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, Muay Thai kick-boxing, swimming, and power lifting. He has six years experience designing weightlifting routines and has participated in a bodybuilding-style weightlifting routine for this duration.

In his free time Derek enjoys outdoor activities such as surfing, hiking, deep sea fishing, jogging, kayaking, and biking. He also spends his free time researching articles on health, nutrition, and exercise science. Derek's emphasis in training clients and in his own life is to maximize health through improved fitness and nutrition with the broader goal of increased lifespan and quality of life.
