Lara McGlashan has more than 15 years of experience as an editorial freelance writer and editor. Her writing specializes in health, fitness, and nutrition.

She is currently the Fitness Editor for Oxygen Magazine. She has contributed to numerous publications, including Fitness, Self, Shape, MuscleMag, Men's Fitness, Ladies' Home Journal and Family Circle. Lara has also compiled numerous books, e-books, and direct marketing projects with celebrities, individuals, and corporations.

Most recently, she collaborated with New York City celebrity fitness trainer Simone De La Rue on her book Body By Simone (HarperWave, 2014). She also co-authored Your Body, Your Life: The 12-Week Program to Optimum Physical, Mental & Emotional Fitness (Sterling, 2008) with celebrity trainer and television personality Kim Lyons, who was a trainer on NBC's hit show The Biggest Loser.

Lara is an ACE certified personal trainer and fitness consultant. Her sports background includes skiing, snowboarding, flying trapeze, yoga, competitive beach volleyball, dance, mountain biking, hiking, and running, to name a few endeavors. She is currently exploring the world of CrossFit in her home base of Connecticut, where she lives with her 2-year-old son, Alex.
