How Did You Get Started?

Starting out, I really had no care for bodybuilding. The only reason I had lifted weights was because of my friends. In my 8th grade year I had signed up for a weight training class. At the time my friends was benching about 180, which was a lot back then. It was the first time I had ever tried bench. I ended up getting 150 that day. Seeing that my friends could get 30 lbs more than me sort of got me fired up. Everyday during weight training I'd try to max out. I've heard that this type of training isn't good but I didn't know that then. Well, after about 2 to 3 weeks of constant benching. I had gotten my max up to 190. One of my friends' max had went down 10 lbs, and the other two's maxes only went up 5 lbs. This gave me a lot of motivation. Ever since then I've worked out trying to get big and be the best in the school. I figured if I could catch up with them then I could catch up with anyone with hard work.

Well, after I had made my goal of being the strongest in my grade. I had to find something else to push me. That's when I started bodybuiling. I wanted to look like the guys on the magazine. So for about the past year I've been working on all of my body parts and giving an adequate amount of rest for each.

What Workout Plan Worked Best For You?

I've never really had a great workout plan. I'd just go into the gym and do what I felt like workin'. That is until recently. My weight training coach has helped me with a very good program. It's called Bigger, Faster, Stronger. It consists of running, core workouts, and auxillary lifts.

  • Mon: Squat, Deadlift, Powerclean, Biceps
  • Tues: Bench, Millitary Press, Dips
  • Wed: Smith Machine Squat, Leg Curls, Biceps
  • Thurs: Towel Bench, Incline Press, Triceps Press Downs
  • Fri: Deadlift, Powerclean, Shrugs, Biceps
At the end of every workout:
  • Mon, Wed, Fri: You do neck exercises and sit ups.
  • Tues, Thurs: Tricep Extendors (over your head) and sit ups.

What Nutrition Plan Has Worked Best For You?

What Supplements Have Given You The Greatest Gains?

The supplement that has helped me out is creatine. When I first started taking creatine it helped me gain mass. This really helped me in seeing my gains. From there I went in cycles of gaining and losing. I really think that helps a lot.

Why do you love Bodybuilding?

The main thing I like about bodybuilding is it helps me take out my stress. If I'm having a bad day I just go in the weight room and take it out on the weights. Another reason I like bodybuilding and why I'm sure most people do, is because of the girls. Knowing that working out in the long run will give me that extra edge on the other guys in physical appearance helps a lot.

What One Tip Would You Give Other Bodybuilders?

One tip that I can give to all bodybuilders is never give up. If you keep working on it, results will come. You just have to eat right and stay consistent with the workouts.

Who Are Your Favorite Bodybuilders?

My favorite bodybuilder is Arnold Schwarzenegger. The main person that has helped me and given me motivation is my weight training coach/bodybuilder, Doug Thurmond. I look up to him in bodybuilding and hope to achieve what he has later on in life. Thanks coach! A special thanks to my workout partner Craig Mize.
