Product Overview

L-Lysine is an essential amino acid, which means your body cannot manufacture it. It must be obtained through the diet or by supplementation. Lysine is one of the most well known amino acids and is an essential component of all proteins. Lysine supplementation has been shown to increase the absorption of calcium and it may reduce its excretion. Some researchers believe that lysine may be shown to have a role in maintaining proper bone health. Lysine works with other essential amino acids to maintain growth, lean body mass, and the body's store of nitrogen.

Easy to dispense from container right into my protein shake. Dissolves almost instantly after a few shakes and is tasteless. Purchased multiple times. Try it !

Cheap, pure, mixes instantly, pure awesomeness. If you mix it with anything you won't notice the taste. Only downside is that it's measured by the teaspoon so you will have to reuse a scoop.

L-lysine, a salty taste but not a salt solidity, it conforms to its self in the mouth, it is crunchy but not as hard nor as dense as salt. I mix it with potasium ascorbate and magnesium ascorbate, Glycine and glutamine and lemon juice. I have experienced a sense of refreshment with this combination. I suggest mixing Lysine with high amounts of vitamin C so the sour taste masks the saltiness of the Lysine. Lysine is about a 5 on a negative taste scale of 1 to 10, 1 is mild and 10 is the worst taste. Lysine is critically valuable in the production of elastine. Elastin is the primary component of ligament, bone to muscle integrity and epithelial tissues. Epithelial tissues are the medium though which nutrition is passed to the organs for their functioning and the expulsion for toxic materials. ' Elastin is composed of the protein fibrillin and amino acids such as glycine, valine, alanine, and proline. It is a specialized protein with a molecular weight of 64 to 66 kDa, and an irregular or random coil conformation made up of 830 amino acids. Elastin is made by linking many soluble tropoelastin protein molecules, in a reaction catalyzed by lysyl oxidase, to make a massive insoluble, durable cross-linked array. The amino acid responsible for these cross-links is lysine.'http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elastin http://www.umm.edu/altmed/articles/lysine-000312.htm
