The amino acid L-carnitine is well known for its key role in the burning of fats. Specifically, L-carnitine transports fatty acids to the innermost section of the mitochondria (the cellular powerplants for energy) where they are used to create adenosine triphosphate (ATP), the energy currency of the body.
Acetyl L-Carnitine (ACL) is the acetyl ester of the amino acid L-carnitine, which transports fats into the mitochondria.* In the mitochondria these fats are converted to an energy source. It is a nutrient and naturally occurring metabolite that is involved in lipid, carbohydrate and protein, metabolism.* ALC is naturally present in the human body. The heart, brain, the muscles, and the testicles contain considerable concentrations of ALC but its levels are dramatically reduced as we age.
Though closely related to L-carnitine, ALC is suggested to surpass the metabolic strength of carnitine.* ALC is a source of precious acetyl groups that facilitate energetic pathways. Acetyls from ALC can be combined with coenzyme A (the metabolized form of the vitamin pantothenic acid) to create Acetyl-Coenzyme A (A-CoA). It is the A-CoA acting within the Krebs cycle that helps to generate ATP.

This product is pretty solid. It is helpful for me especially since I am a vegan. I have always had issues with short-term memory, and since acetyl l-carnitine is used to produce acetylcholine, it has helped me stay on task slightly better. My only issue is that on a day after I took 3 pills (1 in the morning, in at noon, and one in the evening), I had an uncomfortable sensation in my stomach.
Very effective supplement when taken before your workout. I add this in when trying to give myself that extra edge. Add it along with any current pre workout I'm currently taking. It's cheap, effective and you can take it easily with any preworkout.
Felt no difference.
I go through a bottle a month, been taking it for 6 months now. First few weeks of taking this and the mood enhancement is extremely noticeable. I would say it makes me feel happier, perhaps a bit more focused. I take 2 caps with my morning multivitamin, the price is great.

I didn't know about Acetyl l-Carnitine until I started Jim Stopani training program Shortcut to Shred. It is an excellent product for increasing performance and power. I did some research about it as well and found out that it has other health benefits as well. The only downsize is that it comes in a small presentation.
Good price and you will see results if taking after every meal. The pills are 500 mg with 2mg of B6. For best results I say take 1-2 grams per meal doing this you should see results.
I took this post work out. With a regular L-Carnitine pre work out. It did what it was supposed too. No wonder pill or anything, but it does what it's supposed too.
