Having the right social network can define success in any endeavor that you pursue. After all, a man is judged by the company he keeps. Someone who shares your goals can help you overcome any adversity.
Finding that person, however, can be just as difficult. A BodyGroup can connect you with people who can mentor you, challenge you, and exchange ideas that you might not have come across otherwise.

With the obvious benefits that come from being in a group of like minded people, Bodybuilding.com has decided to highlight some of the best BodyGroups. Once a month we will give a salute to a BodyGroup that displays the benefits of people coming together with similar goals. Our BodyGroup Of The Month features an ever growing group of highly motivated people, The 2009 Transformation Group.
We all want to transform our bodies and feel better about oursleves. By joining this group you should be prepared to be motivated by others. We are the contagous group of motivators! In 12 weeks we will all have defined abs and bulging biceps. Where will you be? You cant beat us so you might as well join us.
Everyone that joins my BodyGroup must be committed to helping all the members reach their goals, staying motivated, and holding each other accountable. By doing this we will tranform our physique in only 12 weeks.
[ Q ] What is The 2009 Tranformation Group about and who are the members?
The Transformation BodyGroup is a social network for those who inspire, or need to be inspired, to transform themselves physically and/or mentally.
The members come from various backgrounds; those who have previously transformed but have fallen of track, people who need to put on muscle to reach their goals, others who have a lot of fat to lose in order to transform into their dream physique, or it could be a combination of these thing.
We also have members such as myself who enjoy the transformation and have done it several times before. We are here to help our members reach their goals!
[ Q ] Why did the founder start the group?
I started the group to accompany my
Daily Video Trainer series. We have thousands of visitors following this series but many feel alone while following it and have questions to ask. The BodyGroup is here to hold your hand everyday, to support you while feeling down and to applaud you when accomplish your goals.
Having a support group like this is very powerful. All of a sudden you have a group to be accountable, where as at home or work you may not have one.
[ Q ] What have your members results been like?
The results have been astounding. Some have taken off as much as 50lbs of fat while others have put on as much as 10lbs of
muscle in a very short timeframe. Others have simply learned the simple steps to self-discipline and how to control their environment. Way too many are controlled by it.
[ Q ] How do you use the BodyGroups feature?
There are several features for them to use. They can either post on their various questions and answers on the BodyGroup Forum or they can share their views under the comments section on the main page. This seems to be the most popular feature of our BodyGroup. Our newsfeed also keeps everyone updated on the thoughts, progression and sometimes frustration.

[ Q ] How would you explain the attitude needed in your group, to a new member?
You just need to be open. Be open to be
motivated, inspired, inspire and constructively criticized. As much as you want help, others do too, so you must be willing to give as well as receive.
[ Q ] In what way has motivating other BodySpace users, given you the ability to push yourself to new levels?
It just reminds me that by helping others, I am reminding myself to also take care of who's most important to me - me! My wife will be happier if I am happy, my co-workers will put-up with me if I have more energy, I will feel better by having more confidence and the BodySpace members will get better advice from me if I continue my health and fitness goals.
[ Q ] What would you tell someone who is contemplating making a commitment to joining your group, to motivate them make the commitment.
If you don't have a support group at home and you feel like your uphill struggle is a lonely one, join
the 2009 Transformation BodyGroup. By doing-so, you have a new family, friends, and if needed, an intervention BodyGroup.
You will be surprised how addicting this can be, but for the good. For a while, I was speaking to members of the groups more often than I was speaking with family and friends, because these people are going through the same ups and downs as you, and they can relate.
[ Q ] How do you think the group mentality applies to your personal life and how has it helped?
For me, it gave me much more accountability. During
diets I would sometimes struggle with cravings but with the accountability of the group, it somehow gave me a subliminal message not to even think about it.
The thought of cheating, missing cardio or even falling short of failure during my workouts never crossed my mind. No longer am I accountable to myself, but to over 1000 others.
