Franchise Overview With Founder & CEO Rick Sikorski

Rick Sikorski is founder and CEO of the Fitness For Life Franchise Corporation, now called Fitness Together ( Under Rick's dynamic leadership, the company has grown from one private training studio in 1983 to more than 265 Fitness Together franchise locations throughout the United States, Israel, Ireland, and Canada and nearly 400 scheduled to open.

Founder & CEO Rick Sikorski.

The franchise corporation, established in 1996, is built on three main foundations: strong corporate support, proven operating systems, and excellent leaders.

A native of Canada, Rick was born in Saskatchewan and raised in Alberta. After graduating from the University of Alberta, Rick took his Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology to Scottsdale, Arizona, where he responded to the public's need for an alternative to the large public gym model.

By combining his love for fitness and his knowledge of psychology, Rick was able to turn a humble 400-square-foot studio into the world's largest personal training organization within a customized setting.

Pursuing his passion for fitness and desire to help people hasn't always been easy. Rick endured several hardships along the way, most notably in the early years. To raise money for working capital and equipment purchases, Rick was forced to sell his car.

He used a sleeping bag for a bed and cooked his meals in a microwave. A normal work week lasted between 75 and 80 hours with no paid vacations.

With the help and support of his wife, Elisabeth, however, Rick persevered, determined to reach the goals he so strongly sought. In the 14 years prior to forming a corporation, Rick achieved a high level of success and was able to open four studios of his own in the Scottsdale area.
