Questions For 2007 NPC Nationals Competitor Tim Sahr
[ Q ] Please introduce yourself (name, occupation, how long bodybuilding & competing, best placings, etc.). Also please send a photo or two if you have one.
My name is Tim Sahr. I work for the City of Waterloo. I started bodybuilding in 1980 and have been competing since then. I have held the Mr. Iowa title 4 times; in 1987, 1988, 2004, and 2007.
National Competitions: 2002, 15th place in bantamweight class; 2004, 13th place bantamweight class; 2005, 10th place in bantamweight class; 2006, 13th place bantamweight class, Jr. Nationals; 2007, 12th place in lightweight class.
[ Q ] Will you try something different in the days leading into the show in comparison to what you have done in the past? If so what? And do you feel you are taking a risk of the new strategy backfiring?
Moving up a weight class from bantamweight to lightweight. I feel that I am better as a lightweight then a bantamweight.
[ Q ] Is this show a team effort or have you prepared by yourself?
I currently train at home on my own. My girlfriend spots for me.

[ Q ] Who do you see as your main competition and why?
I feel everyone at the national level that competes is competition. Because you have to be at your best to get to the national level.
[ Q ] What is the strangest strategy you have practiced in preparation for the 2007 Nationals?
I have my routine, really don't do anything strange.
[ Q ] Have you cheated on your diet? If so, how did you cheat?
This year has been the strictest I have ever dieted.
[ Q ] What has been your main focus of motivation to be the best you can be come November 16th?
Wanting to become a pro. My wife was the person that talked me into competing again. She past away in 2003. So I continue to compete for her and my 3 children.
